the wadden sea at butjadingen / lower saxony / germany. the wadden sea is the largest tidal flat system in the world, it‘s the result of high and low tide. twice a day, at low tide, the sea turns into a huge wetland (10.000 square kilometers), covering the coast of denmark, northern germany and the netherlands. in 2009 the wadden sea was declared UNESCO World Heritage. Happy tenth anniversary!
i learned some more (fun) facts about the wadden sea during my recent trip to butjadingen. you can find some more impressions of the wadden sea in my stories.
press trip on invitation by @butjadingen , @dienordsee and @mein_niedersachsen .
venice. under the bridge. on my last visit, in 2015, rialto bridge was under construction and it‘s nice to see it without any scuffolds now. i prefer the view on the bridge when passing on the canal grande in a vaporetto. (anyway my advice when going to venice: get a week ticket to the waterbus and enjoy the rides!) .
