  • Day 3 of #WinterGoddessYogis🧘🏻‍♀️ #AloYogaChallenge .

This is the first proper backbend I have done since I broke my neck last July and it was very unexpected!! I had not planned to do a full wheel but with the aid of my @yogi.bare yoga wheel, I was able to get into it 💕 I am so happy for the progress. .

Today’s pose is a heart opener for spreading love. .

Compassion is an emotional reaction to witnessing someone suffering and it literally means “to suffer together”. .
I think that compassion starts at home... we have to be compassionate to ourselves so that we can better be compassionate to others. I have definitely struggled with this during my recovery but I’m learning to be kinder and more patient with myself through yoga and meditation.

I find it very difficult to see people suffer, especially loved ones. I like to think that I offer a safe space for them when they need it. This requires patience and sometimes sacrifice but it is so important to be kind to others and to notice when they need more love, more attention, more care.

  • Still coming down off of my wonderful brunch this morning with @amberl_riggs where the topic of discussion were goals, expanding our circle and how we are constantly striving to be our best selves. We distinguished peak performance and what that means to us as well as how we will never fully be done “becoming;” That once we reach a certain level, we will always strive for the next. “Becoming” is a life long pursuit. I feel many of us fall into the trap of ageism and base what our bodies and minds are capable of off our age.  Do not fall into that trap. We are meant to constantly progress and become better humans and I believe that is where much of our happiness or unhappiness stems from. Keep striving for that next level of yourself; mind, body and spirit 💕

I had a great workout today and ended with some much needed yoga practice. Be well friends! Love you all
