After this baby I would like to speak to a doctor about being #resleeved#vsg#wls or possible revision to #rny#vsgtorny. I never felt extreme restriction. And accepted a mediocre level of care. Well my acid reflux got even worse before becoming pregnant and I’m suffering through this pregnancy. I’m afraid there will be damage. I already had erosions prior to my surgery and was told I shouldn’t have had vsg with the type of erosions I had from acid reflux!!!
Obsessed with this hold on me knit from @runwayscout! Super generous sizing (I’m in the 10)
And I stole this @glassons skirt from my sisters wardrobe 🙃🙃 love being able to “share” clothes with her now!
I’d be lying if I said I always feel motivated. I’d be lying if I said I always look at myself with pride and amazement. I’d be lying if I said I wake up everyday thankful for my journey and how far I’ve come. Everyday is not perfect, it’s not always motivating or happy. I have my days where I look in the mirror and wonder what did I do to my body. I have days where I wonder will I ever feel normal. I have days where I look and think will I ever be good enough. It’s no harm in admitting this because as a normal human being we all go through the motions. I’m thankful that the motions are temporary and I don’t allow them to dictate my journey nor do I put myself down for feeling. We as humans love to put a negative view on emotions we view as negative, we try to hide them or pretend they don’t exist when in actuality; we need to embrace all emotions. The biggest change in any journey has to be your mind and the way you think about life. There will always been room for learning and adjusting and making yourself a better person. I’m thankful that everyday this journey is allowing me to change from the inside out. Listen, smile, nod and then do whatever the fuck you set out to do anyway ✨👌🏼
If I had listened, Id still be 300lbs and never would’ve gotten WLS. If I had listened, I would’ve thought losing 80lbs was good enough, bc I “looked good”. If I would’ve listened, I would have gained 50+lbs during my pregnancy bc I was supposed to “enjoy it” (which I absolutely did anyway!). -
If I would’ve listened I’d still feel like I could’ve done better than I have this far, I’d feel that I haven’t done good enough, I’d still feel like im not worthy of being proud of myself and how far I’ve come. -
I’ve gotten 1,000 opinions about who I am, what im doing and how I should do it. I haven’t asked for them. I just kinda sorta listen, nod and move on. What works for me may not work for others, and what works for others def didn’t/doesn’t work for me. Do it for YOU boo! 💯
🍕🍆 Vegan Eggplant Pizzas 🍆🍕
• All measurements are approximate because I made this recipe up as I went along •
• 1 small eggplant sliced 1cm thick
• 1 cup breadcrumbs • 1 tbsp oregano
• salt & pepper .
Chilli Basil Pizza Sauce:
• 1/2 cup Passata
• 1 clove of garlic
• 1 tbsp tomato paste • 1 tbsp red chilli flakes (optional)
• 1 tbsp dried oregano
• 1 tbsp dried basil • salt & pepper
Toppings that I used:
• mixed olives
• cherry tomatoes • red onion
• dairy-free parmesan cheese (or lactose-free, whichever you prefer of the two)
For the eggplant bases — sprinkle with salt and set aside for 10 minutes to draw out the excess moisture. Once that’s done, grill the eggplant on high for approx. 5 minutes, then dip the slices in equal parts flour, melted vegan margarine (or egg wash) & seasoned breadcrumbs. Line a baking tray with parchment paper or tin foil, lay out slices and drizzle with olive oil. Place in a fan-forced oven at 200°C for 20-25 minutes, turning halfway through.
For the pizza sauce — in a heated saucepan add olive oil, crushed or diced garlic & red chilli flakes and stir until fragrant. Add tomato paste, passata, oregano, basil and salt & pepper to taste. Bring to a boil then simmer until reduced to a pizza sauce/tomato paste consistency.
For the toppings — in a pan; blister cherry tomatoes and sauté red onions until translucent.
Once the eggplant bases are cooked, remove from oven and start assembling. Spread an even layer of pizza sauce, add parmesan cheese and toppings. Place under the grill for about 3-5 minutes or until cheese is melted to your liking. Serve & enjoy!
Same outfit, 15 kilos (34 lbs) difference. I am grateful that I was able to have the courage to finally have surgery 3 months ago. I am counting down the days until my surgeon will clear me for weight lifting again 🙏🙏
In the meantime, I will be patient and keep up with my walks and my #couchto5k plan.
If anyone is debating whether to have surgery or not, PM me, would love to help and share my experience ♥️♥️
At Mum’s and she is having her garden designed and built by a very sexy young landscape gardener (for those already thinking it, too young for me!). Seeing he had headphones on, I thought I was safe behind a closed glass door and the sound of his radio ....to let out a lovely long bum-rumbling fart!....only he heard & looked up!! The gas is real people - be kind, I’m on a damn liquid diet! #imsohot#ladylike#busted#whyamistillsingle#notthefirsttime
Imagine walking along on your treadmill at a pace of 2.5 and incline of 1 when you see this guy toss a massive backpack on and start walking at highest incline. (Of course I had to look for an exit and have my phone in hand Incase he pulled out a machine gun...I know I have watched way to many episodes of Criminal Minds and FBI.) Yes! Just like you my thought was this guy is Marvel Comic hero strong and I would love to be like him and wow he is making me tired. When is my appointment for the hydro-massage?
It’s been two weeks since my consultation and it’s two weeks to surgery!
Two weeks on the #preopdiet and I’ve lost 6.4kgs (I’m actually over the moon). I’ve lost my appetite and have been running around like crazy but I’m feeling really optimistic about the #vsg.
Here’s to two more weeks of drowning in water and shakes 😂
My pre op appointment went well. Because I’ve had a previous stomach surgery (NOT bariatric, I had a small mass removed from my stomach a few years ago) and the staple line from the first surgery goes across where my surgeon needs to cut for my VSG, she pushed my surgery back a day so she had more time, since she thinks mine will take a little longer than the standard VSG. She also rarely does drains, however, mine is one where I may need a drain. I am a VERY hard IV stick. Nearly all previous surgeries it took several attempts and the anesthesiologist had to do it. So, they may do a midline IV catheter on me for this surgery too. It’s getting a bit more complicated than I thought, but having this tool to lose 100+ pounds and regain my life and health will be well worth it. .
