Fun Fact: The first military reservation on the islands of Hawaii was called Fort Ruger and was built inside the crater of Diamond Head. Diamond Head Crater is now a state park and no longer used as a military facility. #islandcomfort
“While exploring the beautiful Masada, an ancient fortress that represents the ancient kingdom of Israel and a place of refuge for the last survivors of the Jewish revolt, we learned about what remains of King Heron’s palace. In the 110 degree heat, we came upon one of the buildings that had a steady ray of sunshine shining from the opening. It did make an awesome picture for many, including myself but I couldn’t help imagine that the light represented the positivity which comes over darkness in times when we feel like there isn’t any hope.” ☀️ | @ambdelg
Our hotel on this gorgeous Vietnamese island, La Veranda, is really something special - and we don't say that lightly. Set in an opulent French Colonial-style mansion along the Gulf of Thailand, this plush beachfront hotel has luscious gardens that meander along winding paths and is, quite simply, the epitome of elegance. Think four poster beds and Gatsby-style shutters with a white sandy beach stretching as far as the eye can see. Glorious.
