Change - #climatechange
I know that around 60% of people on Earth would have known about the climate change that is happening right now. But why did it happen right now or else was it before itself.
Well we can say that the seasons change every three months a year but the climate change is that even possible? To rain when it should shine, or too be hot while it needs to be cold.....
What have we done?
You can say that I did not do anything......yes I m too telling the same you haven't did anything you just sit simply and worry. You wait for some miracle to happen that is out of the world.

Do something please.

  • In the last six years, my growing interest in the @unitednations has been driven by a strong desire to advance the interest of people, amplify the voices of the less privileged and give hope to those who have lost it.
Looking back, my real connection with the @unitednations started in 2013.

In 2013, when my university posted me and a friend to undertake our mandatory internship at @citi973fm, we were rejected. I was disappointed because at the time, I really wanted to work with @citi973fm, so my initial excitement of being posted there was quenched. After the rejection, we combed various media houses in an effort to secure other opportunities for our internship but that too was to no avail.
Just as I was about to give up, one of my favorite lecturers, @kodwoboateng
opened us up to an opportunity to undertake our internship at the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Ghana Country Office. He had no idea what we were going through; I guess it was the right opportunity at the right time. For me, this was a big deal because for years I had nurtured dreams of working with the @unitednations. However, deep within, I dreaded another rejection.

Moving forward, when @queen_mawuse gave us that opportunity to intern with @unfpa_ghana, it created not only an immense opportunity for me to learn and work in the interest of people, but gave me great exposure and helped me to build meaningful relationships.

So last night I was pleased to attended yet another event organized by @unfpa_ghana. This time, it was not a training session or one of the usual engagements to advance the interest of women and girls. It was a tripartite event to mark UNFPA@50, Prof Sai @ 95 and ICPD @ 25.

A big congratulations to @unfpa and @unfpa_ghana on 50 years of advancing the interest of women, girls and young people.

Thank you to @queen_mawuse for her belief in me and other young people in Ghana and for opening us up to various opportunities to learn and grow.

  • The United Nations Development Programme (@UNDP) and the International Renewable Energy Agency (@IRENAimages) have announced a global partnership to accelerate low-carbon energy transition and offer concrete steps to achieve sustainable development.
*
Under the cooperation, the organizations will explore joint initiatives aimed at accelerating the implementation of the Agenda 2030 and stimulating renewable energy investments in developing countries.
*
“Partnerships such as this strengthen the world’s response to the profound challenges of #climatechange and #sustainabledevelopment,” says Francesco La Camera, Director-General of #IRENA. *
“This cooperation brings together IRENA’s technical knowledge and #renewableenergy data repository, with the #UNDP’s vast global development and project implementation network. Such complementarity will allow us to explore and co-develop effective pathways to advance energy access, accelerate the low-carbon energy transition and promote sustainable growth."
*
UNDP is the primary supporter of #climateaction in the #UnitedNations. Building on its portfolio of USD 3.2 billion in grant financing in collaboration with the vertical funds, bilateral and multilateral partners, UNDP provides financial and technical support to countries to design and implement Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) under the #ParisAgreement.
*
The partnership with IRENA will help to scale-up support to countries and accelerate the delivery of the Paris Agreement and the #SustainableDevelopmentGoals.
