When we travel, we do exhaustive research for months (or years, in the case of Greece) on the city we are visiting. From culture to food, secret haunts to touristy clichés, we study 'em all and create a distilled list on an excel sheets. Why? It becomes a ready reckoner for us when travelling.
On every travel getaway, we make it a point to experience the local flavour. We dig out what great local eats are Being a vegetarian, this is a must for me. Helps me understand what my options are. I don't want to end up with the same old thing in every meal!
Moreover, learning about local food helps you understand how a region grows its crops, cooks and dines. It is an insightful experience. And every time, we bring back a lot of local ingredients to try some of these recipes back home or infuse them into our regional recipe and see the magic unfold! :) And so when we were in Greece, we were keen on trying everything local. What you see here is the Owl salad of Chania with a Cretan barley rusk called Dakos with tomatoes, olives, feta, capers, thyme drizzled with extra virgin olive oil. We bit our teeth into this crunchy and textured dish at the Piperatto restaurant in Naoussa, Paros.
Food is truly something that connects us all. And the more we understand how and what we eat, the more there are ways to find peaceful coexistence through this universal language :) #bruisedpassports#bruisedpassportsfamily@bruisedpassports#thetwodrifters#travel#travelblogger#offtoseetheworld#letsgoeverywhere#beautifulplaces#travelling#travelingpassports#photojournal#photooftheday#traveldiaries#getaway#visitgreece#nomads#nomadlife#nomading#travelersnotebook#travelphotography#greece🇬🇷 #greecelover_gr#travelgram#travelgirl
I don’t think I ever took sunscreen as seriously as I should in my younger years, and as an Indian child, I’m pretty sure my family didn’t either! But, now, I make sure that we have sunscreen with us when we go away and a winner for me has always been @bootsuk Soltan - mainly because it was always cheaper! BUT it comes out top with 5 ⭐️ protection so definitely a winner as well as cheap! For any families going on holiday I know it can get quite costly, but we bought these as part of a pack where you also get another adults one which is SPF 15 🙌🏽
Maybe I’m now worried about the wrinkles forming and all the horror stories about skin cancer from sun damage! (I still don’t think I put on as much as they say you should though 🤭)
[NOT an ad - I just love the product]
Life is like a box of crayons. Most people are the 8 color boxes, but what you're really looking for are the 64 color boxes with the sharpeners on the back. I fancy myself to be a 64 color box, though I've got a few missing. It's okay though, because I've got some more vibrant colors like periwinkle at my disposal!!
