  • Last night I launched a flagship event called A Green Beauty Night, brought to you by @theecowell and @theecomarketkw 🍃. I find a lot of the information out there about green beauty is, quite frankly, inaccurate. What is green beauty? So commonly I'll see people saying that a product is 'green' because it's 'natural' or 'organic', when in reality, natural is not synonymous with sustainable, and there are many examples out there to demonstrate this. Likewise, synthetic does not equal bad. What does sustainable mean? While we generally like to simplify these things, sustainability is anything but a simple discussion... But it is an important one. I hear all the time that different companies have a different way of defining sustainability, and I see that as a challenge. If we want to move our industry forward in this area, while we may have different approaches, we should strive to be unified with our understanding. Last night, we featured a panel on the topic to start to disseminate 'Green Beauty', and we're so happy with the outcome of our conversation. Thank you so much to Christian Euler from Phycus Bio, Jenise Lee from CertClean and Dayna Stein from Bare Market for being panelists for my first Green Beauty Night - hopefully, the first of many, with Toronto just the start! Thank you to all of our fabulous vendors and attendees for joining in our conversation! 💚💚 Link in @greenbeautynight bio for our photogallery!
