  • It’s Friday and it’s official. There is a child living in this house. A child with a knack for interior design (#thankthelord)... But a child for sure. I had great plans of banishing him and his toys into an extra room we have... But soon realized he is an ‘in-your-face’ sort of player and required a set up in the main living space. Working with children/creating environments for them has been my job for over ten years... And I’ve got five basic rules for children spaces:
1. Natural (yes, I’m ‘that’ Mom)
2. Accessible (you have hands? Get it yourself)
3. Imprintable (cozy, soft, inviting... Somewhere you can plant your butt in a welcoming way 😏)
4. Moveable (toys are open-ended/evoke creativity)
5. Beautiful (who decided children are obsessed with garish, primary colours? WHO!?!)
How do you ‘feature’ your child(ren) in your home without losing yourself in the process? It’s Friday and it’s official. There is a child living in this house.
