the excitement is REAL for spring officially starting tomorrow! ✨🙌🏼
mostly because right after spring is summer and that’s when i’ll be swimming in these waterfalls instead of just staring at them 🤪 i love spring for many reasons:
• warmer weather
• prettier days
• the GREEN returning
• overall happier sense of well-being
• my birthday coming up!
• more motivation to get outside
what are some reasons why YOU love spring? 🌷✨🌱🌸💫⬇️
I didn’t know when I woke up this morning that I’d be testifying at the TN General Assembly in the afternoon, but I wake up every morning willing to use my voice to support causes I’m passionate about, and that’s where I am here. .
HB 387 would give the same rights to independent contractors in Tennessee (ie musicians, artists, songwriters!) that employees already have when it comes to filing sexual harassment suits. I believe this is an important step in the right direction to creating a safe working environment for women in the music industry. I’m glad to say it wasn’t killed completely, and I look forward to an earnest summer study by the committee.
Thank you to Representative Freeman for having me speak and to Rep Freeman and Senator @jeffyarbro for bringing these important issues forward in legislation. Thanks a million also to @peterferguson9 for being by my side today - I’m grateful for you. .
If you’re still reading - if you think your voice doesn’t matter, or that one voice can’t make a difference - I’m here to tell you it absolutely can. Speak up for what you believe in, y’all. That’s the only way we can help this long arc of the moral universe bend in the right direction. .
We’ve had a very pleasant #surprisevisit (two days in a row) at our kitchen window #birdfeeder that’s filled with @tractorsupply#blacksunflowerseeds. This is a common bird in #tennessee, but uncommon to bird feeders; the #redheadedwoodpecker. Often times mistaken for the #redbelliedwoodpecker as a Red-headed, but they are very different #birds indeed. The habitat around our Home is dense hardwood forest. Not the habitat Red-headed woodpeckers prefer. However, you can easily spot them in open portions of the nearby Cheatham Country Wildlife Management Area, where there are a lot of Pine and Cedar trees. They seem to prefer more open habitat with evergreens. #rarebird
In the past we’ve had a love hate relationship. I’ve decided to change that and to start riding with a different mindset. And for the first time ever I actually had a nice ride on Sherone today. So happy!
