cleaned up my mess of succs that didn't survive the harsh winter & cleaned my brain out with a quick relocation of my new perle von nurnberg~
while I'm sad about all the loss bc I'm now down to 4 pots total, it feels good to have my plant area cleaned up and ready for new additions. And I did have a good variety of props live, so I'm excited to pot those.
BRING IT, SPRING¡
Succulents die! And that’s okay! You know when you get a new succulent and you love it so much and check on it every day and over water it accidentally and then it rots. 😂😂Happens to me all the time. Well, with this one, I have no idea what happened, it kind of got neglected.
When I make these posts, showing my ‘fails’, I find I get less likes and comments. But that doesn’t matter, I just think it’s important, that in the world we’re in we need to be okay with flaws and imperfections, especially on social media. We see perfection plastered everywhere we turn, and often judge ourselves harshly because we don’t meet society’s picture of ‘perfect’. I’ve realised as I’ve typed this, I’ve kind of rambled and this became less and succulents and more about people. Just remembered to love yourself! 💚💚💚💚💚

What do you see in this picture ?
Something that’s living or something that has died?
Some days when I look out at my yard I see hard work, and overgrown dead plants that will probably be the death of my partially manicured fingernails.
Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about the things that bring me joy. That iced over, un-groomed garden brings me So.Much.Joy. It always grows back into something beautiful when I put time into it.
I love seeing fresh veggies in our garden; I especially love seeing my son water the plants with my husband, and my daughter run over for an afternoon cherry tomato snack 🍅
I’m trying harder to look at life like I look at my garden as odd as that may sound. Looking at myself as something that can be constantly growing, and finding the beauty in things that might not always show their beauty on the outside✨
I hope your new owners are not overwatering you my lovelies🌼 .
Some of our dreams may have to be put on hold to give way for the others, but it doesn't mean they are less significant. It's just that, a certain phase of one's life may require all our attention (at least what is left after we make time for what really matters for our spiritual, mental and emotional growth) and we just got to give it our best.
The rest of our lives is way too long to be lived with regrets for not pushing ourselves to the limit, for not making use of our potential to its fullest, for giving in to a few more hours of sleep, for slacking and procrastinating, and for not striving hard enough to be the best version of ourselves in everything we do.
Take one dream at a time. We can always set a new life goal after we overcome each one of them. Focus on the present, and let all that you do be done in love, and for the greater glory of the Lord. .
