Summer's official arrival means long days and beautiful skies. Here in Vermont, the sky doesn't always cooperate, but when it does, it's often at the end of the day when all the moisture in the air has burned off, and the clouds combine in a myriad of beautiful patterns. This photo is indicative of one such evening where the light and the sky blend wonderfully over the crest of a farm field of grass alongside an iconic and beautiful red barn.
I hadn't been out to photograph in a while, and it felt good to get out again. I have a few more photos taken later this same night, and I can promise you this, just sitting to enjoy the end of the day and the coming of the night was nothing short of glorious.
I hope I never forget the joy that comes with great weather, a beautiful sunset, and a camera in hand.
For International Widows Day: This is Christine Namatovu, with her son Andrew, in the house in Uganda that her in-laws tried to seize after her husband died. The relatives also tried to take Andrew and her two other children. With the help of lawyers from @ijm (International Justice Mission) Christine fought back in court and won. An estimated one third of widows in Uganda are victims to this crime known as “Property Grabbing,” and according to the global campaign Stand For Her Land women in half the world are still denied land and property rights even in countries like Uganda, where the laws legally protect women. Share the creations that you've made today, because you dont know if you'll be alive tomorrow.
If you're still alive and you still think it sucks, you can always delete it! But if you never share, it will never see the light of day. Not that you create solely for other people.. but sharing is a release. Sharing allows you to move on to other things. Art is never finished, only abandoned. #catharsis
Followed by English translation. 【グラスに映る夕陽】
この日の夕陽はとても素敵でとっぷりと日が沈むまでただただ夕陽を見ていた。 ---Sunset in glasses.---
When I went W Hotel in Bali Seminyak, I saw very very beautiful sunset.
As I was walking on the beach I found a nice sunset reflected in the glass.
I was just watching the sunset until the sunset went down.

I am always curious to see #tamil Hindu culture and temples outside of South India. The #batucaves are a system of limestone caves 272 colorful steps up the mountain with several temples built inside that are dedicated to Murugan and other #hindu gods related to Lord Shiva. They also have a cave where they tell the story of the #ramayana through a series of statuesque scenes. It is also the lair of a whole lot of monkeys - perhaps soldiers of #lordhanuman . Wrapped up this journey into Tamil Malay culture with a #roticanai , a doughy delight similar to a paratha. @sonyalpha#sonyalpha
