  • Deep thoughts? 😏💭: _______________________

I remember being a kid and having really deep thoughts. Not Jack Handy, deep thoughts (#SNL) but thoughts about how things work, the scope of the universe or what happens after we die. I remember around 5 or 6 I was in real deep, thinking about how cameras work. When I got pulled out of it, I couldn’t retrace my mental process. I was pissed. It felt like I'd done 673 squats for my brain. Slowly these deep thoughts got replaced by fashion and boys, obsessing over my thighs and later social media (and my thighs) and now a baby (thighs somehow still creep in there). I’m trying to get back on the writing horse, and I have become more aware of the quality of my thoughts and my thinking process and I started pondering deep thinking. In doing some digging on how to better cultivate deep thinking, I found a simplified explanation as a progress of replacing inferior/shallow thoughts with more qualitative and supportive thoughts. Ohhh, witnessing your thoughts and instead of being distracted by irrelevant thoughts (aka, those that don’t serve you,) letting them fall off to the side so you can stay present on more substantive/deeper thoughts. Oh. Ya. That.
Feel free to caption my thoughts here. I am 97% certain it was not about my thighs with that smirk.
