SMALL ONIONS- 10-12 Nos.
DRUMSTICK - 1 No.
THOOR DHAL - 1 Cup
MUSTARD SEEDS - 1 Tsp.
TURMERIC POWDER - 1 Tsp.
SAMBAR POWDER - 2 Tsp.
TAMARIND - 1 (size of a small lemon)
CURRY LEAVES - Few
SALT TO TASTE
🌼Take tamarind immersed with water and boil it for 5-6 minutes.
🌼Take a pressure cooker and put Thoor dhal along with drumstick, salt and turmeric powder. Allow it for 3 whistles and turn it off.
🌼Take a kadai pan and add Gingely oil, mustard seeds and curry leaves to crackle.
🌼Now add small onions and saute it completely and then add sambar powder, mix it well.
🌼Now take the tamarind water and squeeze all of it into the pan with required amount of water.
🌼 Now allow the tamarind water to boil well and leave it to gravy consistency.
🌼 Add the dhal with the drumstick to the mixture and boil it for 10 minutes.
🌼Add a small silva of jaggery to balance spices.
🌼Serve it hot with rice, idly or dosa!!
