  • Looks like @torylanez trying to give Dax a reality check gave himself a reality check 😂 So Tory is moving on from saying he is better than everyone and starting rap battles, it seems like we will get some new music from him soon and he said recently that he is looking at doing small collab albums👌 Looks like @torylanez trying to give Dax a reality check gave himself a reality check 😂 So Tory is moving on from saying he is better than everyone and starting rap battles, it seems like we will get some new music from him soon and he said recently that he is looking at doing small collab albums👌

  • @offsetyrn released a new single off his upcoming album called ‘Red Room’ and I loved the direction Offset took, hearing him reflect on his younger years and friends he has lost was a compelling juxtaposition to the usual Migos content. It seems like each one of the Migos has learnt from the missteps of the past solo releases, Takeoff realising that ‘Quavo Honcho’ was too bloated and now Offset moving on to more serious subject matter after TakeOff’s ‘Last Rocket’ was critiqued for repetitive content and subject matter. ‘Red Room’ has a very slow and moody trap beat that goes over well and most likely wouldn’t be very captivating by itself but Offset’s floats over it perfectly which gives the song life and it works well with his lyrics and melodies. I love the chorus where he summarises his life from his near fatal car crash to his mother raising him due to lack of a father figure, it switches into an auto tuned melody that is silky smooth (if a little too auto tuned at times) that is very catchy and stops it from getting too repetitive. The verses have a story telling nature to them and act as him getting everything off his chest and expressing the pain he has suffered on the streets and from watching close friends die around him, it seems like Offset takes on a lot of baggage from the people around him as well as his own traumatic events. Even though Offset has dipped into more real and darker subject matters before, it is a breath of fresh air to see him fully jump into less superficial lyrics and actually being honest and upfront about his life, it’s so much more engaging than finding out about The Migos’s extensive watch collection. I hope this is an accurate taste of what is to come on Offset’s solo album as I really enjoyed this single and it hits a good balance of getting stuck in your head and having captivating lyrics. Make sure you go check it out. • @50cent posted a video burning his Gucci clothing in response to @gucci’s absolutely brain dead insensitive blackface top/turtle neck or whatever that thing was supposed to be. I’m glad Gucci are getting this backlash as they deserve it, but I see a lot of people saying ‘oh they may have just made a mistake and someone just didn’t realise’ which is a ludicrous excuse in my eyes. That top would of been designed and then signed off by a a large group of people, then sent to manufacturers, then modelled and disputed then uploaded online. I am sure that around 100 people saw that outfit and not one person clocked on to how bad it was... that is unacceptable in this day and age. @gucci... for a corporation that is supported a lot by the black Hip Hop community, you deserve all the smoke... literally. @50cent posted a video burning his Gucci clothing in response to @gucci’s absolutely brain dead insensitive blackface top/turtle neck or whatever that thing was supposed to be. • Here’s a snippet of @champagnepapi’s speech for winning the ‘Best Rap Song’ for ‘Gods Plan’ at the Grammys. He said that you are winning if you have fans knowing all the words to your songs and if you have fans spending their hard earned money and coming out to see you perform and he is completely right. An award from the Grammy’s really has lost its weight in the eyes of the people, and I whole heartedly agree that aspiring acts shouldn’t be looking to the Grammy’s for validation as they should find reward from their fans and the everyday people who support their music. Don’t look to award shows for what is right, as they care more about playing it safe and popularity then artistic integrity even if they sometimes make the right call. Great speech Drake and to the Grammy’s you ain’t slick trying to cut him short 😅 Here’s a snippet of @champagnepapi’s speech for winning the ‘Best Rap Song’ for ‘Gods Plan’ at the Grammys.
