I used to say it all the time, until I discovered that that saying it got my clients nowhere.
Even if it’s true, even if the reason someone isn’t hitting their goals because they prioritize other things above fitness.... telling them they just don’t want it bad enough, is not going to get a positive response 99% of the time. Most of the time they just quit.
Instead, how about “How can we improve your consistency with healthy eating? With showing up to the gym? How can this become a more regular part of your life, without having to give up everything that makes you happy?”
Fitness professionals can get caught up with themselves because we all LOVE fitness, and can’t wrap our heads around someone really disliking it. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned from training is that you can’t expect everyone to be as dedicated as you are to your greatest passion. Sometimes, your job is to help them find that balance in life so that they’re both healthy, and happy.

Earlier on when I was a weightlifter 🏋🏼♀️ I would hit the bottom hard in squats and cleans. My back and hips would always kill me. I had a string of 9months where I threw out my back 6-7 times 😩. Between lack of sleep, overtraining and hitting the bottom hard - it made sense
Tempo increase time under tension and mechanical load - aka adaptation aka get strong and thicc AF - (only if you’re eating and sleeping enough through 🙌) It also can help your ability to decelerate - I’m not talking about catching the bounce at the bottom, I’m talking about controlling your decent and speed when catching a clean for example (granted technique is a part of this too) if you keep the bottom hard like that bye 👋 hip labrum 🤷🏼♀️ It’s also important to point out that different tempos are appropriate in different phases

Is it worth getting started with programming?
I have been asked this a lot and I literally can't tell you how beneficial it has been for me to just get started. A lot of people think of programming as literally writing lines of code like a robot, but it gives you so much opportunity.
The best benefit for me, as a creative person, has been having the ability to build my ideas. Hiring a developer is expensive and not something most people can do without investment or saving up a lot of money making the risk much higher.
I have been able to get a job working in London with no degree or qualification. I have met loads of like minded people and it has opened so many new doors for me, seeing how possible it is to make something of myself with such a desired skill.
