  • #HappyEaster! We wish you a wonderful Easter weekend!

Have you celebrated #Easter somewhere with interesting traditions?

On #KarpathosIsland in #Greece, ladies bake bread in a traditional community oven with a decorated egg placed in the centre. They then take their freshly baked buns down the steep winding steps to their family to celebrate.

Holy Week or #SemanaSanta, in #Seville, #Andalucia, is an event that transforms towns and cities. Processions of elaborately decorated floats with Jesus and Mary statues, groups of pointy-hood wearing Nazarenos (penitents), and brass bands, walk slowly through the streets. The cone shaped hoods that the nazarenos wear symbolises the rising towards the heavens.

In #Poland, the ritual of painting the Easter eggs (pisanki) is traditionally performed during the 40 days of Lent and no later than #HolyFriday. Once painted, the pisanki are placed into special Easter baskets along with other symbolic food products, and blessed on the Holy Saturday in churches and the boiled eggs are then eaten on the #EasterSaturday.

On #EasterSunday every year, #Florence celebrates the religious holiday in a very special way. The #ScoppiodelCarro, or the "Explosion of the Cart", is a tradition that dates back over 350 years. The elaborately decorated cart is loaded with fireworks and at 11am, the Archbishop lights a dove-shaped rocket that flies out down a wire to outside of the church and collides with the cart in the square, setting off a spectacular firework display.

#EasterEgg Trees are tradition in #Prague and #Germany and they are decorated with hand painted wooden eggs and are commonly found in markets. Easter eggs are a symbol of life, fertility and growth and their powers are enhanced through the addition of colour and decoration. #happyeaster! We wish you a wonderful Easter weekend! • Сказочно красивая Прага и её знаменитый Карлов мост😊😊😊
#прага #prague #beautiful #красота #life #photography #photographer #watch #смотри
