Prior to March 31th, 1900, many private posts were allowed to work in Germany. Countless cities had one or more private companies that offered mail services, despite the existance of the official Reichspost. These companies were allowed to provide mail services only within the same city. All correspondence addressed to other cities or abroad were handled by the Reichspost. Private companies offered rates for postcards, letters and printed matters, sometimes including registered or express services too. Every company issued their own stamps, postcards and stationery. There are even specialized catalogues about this. It is a super interesting topic to collect. After March 31th, 1900, all correspondence was monopolized by the Reichspost, shutting down all private companies. In the first photo we can see some stamps issued by different private companies in different cities. In the second picture we have a printed matter belonging to Franz Hillebrand, a feather-made products company, sent locally in Breslau using a private company. Last photo shows a stationey issued by a private company in Munich, and used within that city. Subject~ Maidan Post
As I understand it, Maidan-Post was founded in Kyiv, Ukraine in 2014 during the period of the Euromaidan Revolution, from which it received its name. They produce cinderella stamps, special postmarks and commemorative envelopes. I assume they have some connection to Ukrposhta, Ukriane's main post. Here are two covers: the first, with a cinderella stamp commemorating the Holodmor and the conventional Maidan Post postmark, and the second, with a whole host of postmarks and cachets front and back, including the Maidan Post. More information can be found regarding these covers from the link currently in my bio.
Maidan Post is an area I am simply burning to learn more about! If you know anything about it or have any material, do let me know. I would be most interested!! #philatelist#philately#philategram#stamps#stampcollection#stampcollector#postagestamp#ukrainianphilately#ukraine#maidan#maidanpost
