  • On Monday I posted my #Mondaymyth question about Fat Free/ Low Fat labelling. ————————————————————————
So why is it that fat free isn't all it's made out to be? 
What you think it means - No fat in this food 
What it actually means - It contains less that 0.5 grams of fat per serving. ————————————————————————
0.5 grams doesn't sound that much. But when you look at the bigger picture.. For example, you take a packet of 12 fat free cookies that contains 0.5 grams of fat per cookie and consume 6, that is 3 grams of fat. You finish the packet, that's 6 grams of fat. 
If you consume more than one serving, it hardly becomes "Fat Free". But what lures us in is the marketing aspect of "Fat Free" and it being supposedly being a healthy option to its counterpart. What seems to escape us is that it doesn't mean its calorie free, carbohydrate free or preservative free. 
What some fat free product lack in fat, they make up in sugars and additives. 
Don't get tricked into thinking that your doing your body a favour by eating fat free. ————————————————————————
