  • Sergio Stelitano @scs_fitness is the NIO Formula E Performance Coach, and his role is to ensure the drivers are physically and psychologically prepared for each race. Here he talks us through how he approaches each race and keeps @Oliver Turvey and @Tom Dillmann in peak condition. "In the build up to the race the priority for me is to keep the drivers as relaxed as possible. What I aim to do is to free them of as much additional stress as possible. This can be done in many ways, for example; telling them where they need to be, at what time they need to be there. This helps to make sure they only have to think about the most essential aspects of their day allow them more time to relax in between their race week commitments.

I will also make sure the driver is in the best physical condition to perform at their optimal in the car. In doing this I will look at 3 things; hydration, nutrition, and physical condition. Firstly, I will be sure that they physically are looked after by providing; sports therapy, training and activation drills to eliminate any areas which have become tight and fire up their body for the race. During the days leading up to the race I will monitor how much water is being consumed and provide electrolyte/caffeine drinks to when needed to maintain hydration. I will monitor their food intake to be sure that they are fuelling their bodies with the nutrients required to maintain and optimise energy levels."

Day 22: 25th April 2018

As a run coach/PT I get to live the highs and lows of my athletes/clients on a week-to-week and month-to-month basis.

A good coaching relationship stretches far beyond the numbers and plays out in trust and friendship. I love each and every client I am fortunate enough to work with, and wish I could share all of their success stories, for each one makes me incredibly proud 😊

This is one story I can’t not share...
.
James came to me about 12 months ago with one goal, a rather large one in fact as he'd gone from wanting to run steady 10km races to running his first Marathon!
.
The goal was simple; and since then, my now good friend James has received his first ever, not only Marathon medal(s), but Ultra Marathon finisher medal too, at the Waterway 30.
.
I could not be more pumped for you @james.davis___ ! Huge congratulations and that is one mission accomplished!
.
The goal has now changed. A fast Berlin Marathon is on the cards for later this year! Speed work has been an essential part of his programming, and last week James absolutely smashed Race 1 of the Yarmouth 5 Mile Series in an eye watering 35 minutes!! 👀🏃‍♂️💨
.
In the last 12 months James has achieved so much, and there’s plenty left in the tank!! Hard work. Commitment. And a will to succeed. Well Done my friend!! 🙌

  • What makes a performance worth watching? Contrary to what we as artists tend to think it’s not perfection. It’s CONFIDENCE! Allowing the audience to feel you, get you, and want to join you in whatever world you are in. And that’s exactly what I worked on with @theresagorella12 yesterday in our very first 3 hr session together. Her band has such a cool disco vibe, so we had a goal of getting her to be free on stage so the audience can feel free on the floor! We set it up as if she was performing with a mic stand. By the end of the session she had opened up,  started getting out of her head and let loose. And that’s what it’s about. To kill the stage you must shift your mindset to deliver something your audience can connect to. It’s not about being the greatest dancer or having some big production. It’s about being YOU and letting that shine. 💥 Great job girl! Please show her some love and be sure to check out her band @iamposterchild #wcw What makes a performance worth watching?
