🍭CANDY UPDATE 🍭
Repost from Wendy WNVCritterpics:
Keep smiling beautiful girl you've become a miracle!
@californiacityanimalshelter Josh and his critters and I knew you could do it.
Candy is still hospitalized because we don't want to take any risks with her. She CAN leave but this is the safest situation for her in my opinion so she stays. If you would like to help us keep her there and getting the round the clock care please do. Her hospitalization is 100.00 a day but someone is with her day and night and that is pretty priceless to me. We always do all we can to save those who can be saved. We rely on the support of like minded folks who believe their lives are valuable. We are not a 501c3 we are just a couple of chicks with a common goal and a sense of duty to help whenever we are possibly able. Funds raised for Candy go toward her medical but we are forever trying to pay down vet and boarding bills and if you'd like to help us with those goals we are forever appreciative. We owe a small fortune to our boarding ave vets offices. Thank you for helping us help these otherwise hopeless cases.

🐱❤⚠️A new feature for today. Stomatitis AGAIN! You know me, I can't let that go. Too painful not to treat. She is in surgery right now getting her teeth out. Her mouth was so so bad!
3-19-19 #kitty in a shelter needs funds for stomatitis so she can be rescued before PTS
Tortilcious URGENTLY needs $500. Lovely dilute torti Tortilicious is at the shelter, now has a cold and also stomatitis. She needs to be rescued and taken to vet for surgery scheduled next Tuesday (if she is well enough) . We expect the vet bill for dental work plus cost of her rescue to be around $500 as she will likely need all or at least most of her teeth pulled. Tortilicious (A117355 A26) is at the Rowan County Animal Shelter, Salisbury NC

Problem: There are an estimated 40.3 million victims of human trafficking globally – 25% are children. While the root causes of trafficking are various and often differ between countries. In Ethiopia migration and poverty are often the triggering factors which are precursors to exploitation and human trafficking.
The 2018 US Trafficking in Persons report has identified this as an evolving and pressing issue in Ethiopia: “Labor recruiters target young people from Ethiopia’s vast rural areas with promises of a better life. Girls from Ethiopia’s impoverished rural areas are exploited in domestic servitude and commercial sex within the country, while boys are subjected to forced labor in traditional weaving, construction, agriculture, and street vending. Addis Ababa’s central market is the site of numerous brothels, where some young girls are exploited in commercial sex. Ethiopian girls are exploited in domestic servitude and commercial sex in neighboring African countries, particularly Djibouti and Sudan. Ethiopian boys are subjected to forced labor in Djibouti as shop assistants, errand boys, domestic workers, and street beggars, in addition to forced criminality. Child sex tourism continues to be a problem in major hubs, including Addis Ababa, Bahir Dar, Hawassa, and Bishoftu.”
Research indicates that up to 65% of children on the street have been sexually abused.
