  • ⁉️Who holds you accountable⁉️
.
Happy Monday IG! Meet Tony (@coach_tonycastillo). Many of you have seen him in previous posts, or even my stories. Him and I have been able to maintain both a relationship as friends and business partners over the last 5 years, and I am forever grateful for this guy.

The one thing I cherish most about our friendship is the level of accountability we have for each other. I’ve been able to grow as a person and professional, as well as meet many of my business and personal goals because of this guy.

Why am I telling you this story and boasting about Tony so much?

Because accountability is key in anything you are trying to get better at. Having someone to periodically check in with gives you a certain level of responsibility versus going at it alone.

For me, when Tony and I hop on weekly calls to catch up, I WANT to report wins on the goals we set the week prior. I WANT to show him that I put in the work and am seeing the results. And when I don’t succeed, I can count on Tony to politely call me out and challenge me to get better.

That’s what accountability is all about. My clients have me as their number 1 accountability partner. I hold them to a higher standard and if they are not giving their all, I make sure to politely let them know. That’s how they improve and get better.

Aside from having the right tools to succeed, having someone to hold them accountable is the most important element to my client’s success.

ACCOUNTABILITY BREEDS RESPONSE-ABILITY.

If you are someone who would thrive from consistent accountability to reach your goals, check out the link in my profile to apply for my 1-on-1 nutrition coaching.

  • Perfect execution by @jackbooth17
Brace. Stretch. Elbow drive back and down. Squeeze. Minimise torso rotation. I see all the time people focusing on moving the weight at all costs. Moving weight from a to b. Moving the most weight possible even with poor form. Getting the exact number of reps. That is focusing on all the wrong things. Moving weight is not the goal! Moving weight from a to b is not the goal! Rep count is just a target not a goal! Bodybuilding is about maximum tension on the target muscle, accurate execution and minimising injury risk. Use your head.

  • HOMEMADE OAT MILK 🥛
A few reasons why I’m totally obsessing over this homemade oat milk: • it’s shockingly quick + easy {legit 15 mins easy} • promise you won’t have to go out and buy any fancy equipment {no mylk cloths/bags necessary} • cheaper {~$3 for a container @quaker oats} than your $7-9 store bought bottle • best of all you know what’s in it — ingredients couldn’t be more clean or simple - FREE OF carrageenan, stabilizers, ‘natural flavors’ and added sugars • plus it’s delish with a creamy, natural oaty flavor that smells & tastes like a yummy bowl of oatmeal ☺️ All YOU’LL NEED is a big bowl, cold water, strainer, blender & obv rolled oats
TO-DO:
1. Take 1 cup of rolled oats & place in a big bowl
2. Add 3 cups of COLD water *this is important bc using hot water can make the oats slimy* & let sit for 15 min
3. After 15 min, place soaked oats in blender - blending on high until smooth for 15-30 seconds *here I did for 15 secs
4. Pour blended mixture through a strainer into desired container {preferably airtight container for storage in fridge}
5. Feel free to sweeten as you like using a natural sweetener - I added 1/2 packet of stevia + cinnamon and it was perfection! Other ideas can be to blend with a date, add liquid stevia vanilla extract... I’m thinking of getting a little fancy and adding a dash of salt next time. Now ENJOY!
P.S. this recipe makes ~2 cups of fresh, yummy oat milk that you can keep in the fridge for the week 🙌🏻
Note: don’t be surprised if you need to shake before use after sitting in the fridge {this is a good sign = no added gums, stabilizers to keep it emulsified}
