This was the second paddle out for the Bight my 10 year old daughter has attended, she has also been involved in the school strike for climate action. It has been her choice each time.
Being part of these rallies and the community is changing her for the better, being part of something bigger is empowering and confidence building.
People criticising the kids and people involved in these protests don't seem to understand the flow on effect of becoming part of something, the education that comes from listening to elders, community leaders and their peers. It is a great experience.
As I watched my girl walk into school beaming today I said the quote in this image. I am grateful to all those involved in these events, my daughter is growing and being inspired with your communities. They say it takes a village, this is a village of extraordinary role models and leaders.
Thrilled to have been a part of this fantastic project: Push Pad Pioneers, providing a platform for the next generation of music makers at my former high school, Loreto High School! Go and give the show a listen on Reform Radio https://www.reformradio.co.uk/play/Push_Pad_Pioneers_15th_March_2019/B4Zj3aByFxixL4civ

It was an honour to have Kurt Penner give a speech at the SVA of BC (Specialty Vehicle Association) AGM yesterday.
Safety is always of utmost importance and keeping the classics on the road is a close second here at Jellybean AutoCrafters so we support the SVA of BC.
The SVA “goes to bat” and represents the car community when it comes to government and ICBC issues so it’s largely responsible for BC having the Collector Plate Program and so many other such privileges. Sadly, without them, our classics would most likely not be on the road anymore or we would not be able to drive them as freely as we do today.
We highly recommend every person that is into cars, becoming a member because the more members they/we have, the bigger our voice in parliament and ICBC.
Seeing as Jellybean AutoCrafters is one of the “longest standing” restoration/custom car shops in BC, a while ago we recommended to the SVA that they should open up their membership to corporations so they would have an even bigger voice in parliament and ICBC. Today we are pleased to announce that Jellybean AutoCrafters is now the first business to become a member and we will do our best to have as many of our competitors jump on board as well. Together we have a stronger voice in making the car community safer, stronger, more enjoyable for the car community and more stable when it comes to new laws coming into affect.
If you have a project vehicle that you have been able to register on your name, you have the SVA to thank for that. They were instrumental in providing you with that privilege and security of building it, knowing it is not a stolen vehicle and insuring it while it’s not in a drivable state. This was not possible until a few years ago.
Membership is only $5 per year so please consider doing your part in keeping this great hobby/industry alive and well.

God give me all that I need to raise them to be all that you called them to be. #mydisciples#nextgeneration#kidzgang#mylittletexans
Today I am grateful for my amazing husband who has supported me in all my crazy fun adventures in life. So grateful to be in this crazy thing called life and be on this journey with you. Without your unconditional love and constant support, Little Seed would not have bloomed! I have had so much fun bringing this little book into the world and cannot wait to see all the love that comes with it. I love you.
“Students like me are going onto their dream colleges, realizing their dreams, and becoming the next generation of doctors, lawyers, CEOs, business Owners, and just the next generation of great leaders. The light at the end of the tunnel is brighter because of your support.” - NWG #kippadultprom#kippdc#morehouse#dc#nextgeneration#swipe
We visit Osoyoos every year. Why? Other than it being a beautiful place this is where I grew up. I lived here for my childhood and spent almost more time with my grandparents here than my own parents. Then after we moved away I would stay with them for two weeks every summer. So, this place is home to me.
This visit is different. We are losing our grandpa. Our peace keeper, our strength and our voice of reason. He’s not gone yet physically (very soon though) but his mind is no longer with him.
This is part of life. I get it. I’ve been an ER nurse long enough to know the process, the medicine, the pathology, and what the cells do at the end.
But to see your family go through is so tough. You don’t want to see them suffer and you wish for them to go quickly to end the pain.
So here we are. Spending time in the same “secret spots” I grew up in and taking in all the memories because that is all we ever end up having left.
