This guide can help you.
Sometimes we cannot deny the fact that there are days wherein we crave for sushi, due to the fact that most Japanese restaurants have been dominating everywhere.
So I made you a guide for your calorie intake tracker. 🍣 How healthy is Sushi by the way? Some fish are excellent sources of omega 3 DHA and EPA, like salmon. They are also a good source of protein and contain all the essential amino acids✅. ⠀
🍣 However, it really depends on how much you eat and the types of sushi you eat.
There are three types of sushi:
✅Sushi: a piece of (usually) raw fish on top of the rice
✅Sashimi: a piece of (usually) raw fish by itself
✅Sushi Roll: raw fish and other ingredients wrapped in seaweed and rice.
P = Protein, C = Carbohydrates, G = Fats:
🍣 Sushi = P C or P C G (moderate calories)
🍣Sashimi = P or P G (lower calories)
🍣Sushi Rolls = P C G (most calories)
The tempura rolls of fried sushi or prawns are "less" healthy because most of them contain sauces or "fried", they are also higher in carbohydrates and fats.
But remember, keep an eye out on portions. It’s easy to think you haven’t eaten a lot due to its bite-sized figure, but calories and salt content will start to add up once you eat a lot.
If you are on strict keto,
better put sushi restaurants behind you and dominate your kitchen instead, you can make your own sushi by then.
Friendly options: ※ You can opt for “Katsuramuki" style sushi; Japanese term for an art of slicing cylinder-shaped veggies into long thin sheets. Simply made without any rice. So prepare your artistry with avocados, cucumber, slices of salmon and asparagus. ※ Or a "no rice" salmon sushi rolls. You’ll use lettuce (low in calories) but rich in quality vitamins. You’ll be needing avocados, cucumber, salmon and carrots, cut into thin strips. Pile up all the ingredients on a sushi nori sheets. ※ You can also discard plain rice from sushi and add your own cauliflower rice.(Healthier low carb alternative)
And viola! There you have your keto sushi!
I hope everyone has a great Wednesday! 😊
Stay healthy 💚 ✌️
