  • WE'RE HIRING! EVENT ASSISTANT POSITION
The Olive Tree Market is looking for an event superstar! While this event assistant position is a casual role, we require a candidate who can commit to our event calendar for 2019. 
The @olivetreemarket is currently held on the first Saturday of the month, and the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of November and December. (Hours are 6am-5pm & slightly later on occasion.) Olive Tree also holds four seasonal market dates at Maitland Regional Art Gallery in May, July, September and November. (Hours are 6:30am-4pm & slightly later on occasion.) POSITION DESCRIPTION
This successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking duties on market days to assist the Event Manager. Including the set-up and pack down of the market (including lifting), directing traffic and parking, monitoring waste management, manning the Olive Tree Market site office, which includes greeting visitors and stallholders, and answering event specific questions. 
The ideal candidate will have considerable event experience, or have recently undertaken study in the field of event management, and have a strong interest in arts based event. You must be able to work as part of a team, and have strong experience in providing enthusiastic customer service and support. 
This is a physical role, that requires an individual that is extremely reliable, as well as positive, proactive, and friendly and able to think on their feet in a fast paced event environment. 
You will be joining a small team who are passionate and innovative and aren’t afraid of hard work. 
POSITION TASKS WILL INCLUDE:
Set up of Marquees and stalls
Set up signage and market theming 
Distribute marketing material to stallholder patrons
Direct traffic, and monitor market sites throughout event 
Conduct safety checks and reports
Greet Patrons
Take customer/ patron enquiries
Processing stall fee payments
Update market spreadsheets 
Customer surveys 
Monitor cleaning and waste management
Pack down and site inspection
