Today is the first day you’re gone, but it’s one day closer, til when you come home.. My Sunshine got called back to the Navy again, to serve this great country and will be in Djibouti, Africa til December, patching up our wounded Soldiers and Sailors, making sure they get home safe to their families.. This is her 5th deployment and I can’t say enough about how proud I am of her, as a Nurse, a Sailor and a human. She’s the most beautiful blessing, that’s ever happened to me. She’s taught me so much about love, sacrifice, selflessness, Patience, responsibility and taking real pride in what you do and for the right reasons, of why and for whom, you do it for.. Watching her dedication to both, being a Nurse and in the Navy, inspires me and all who know her, daily.. True love, holds the mirror to you to show your true potential, while still loving you unconditionally, as you grow into that better version of you. She loves me, faults and all, even when I don’t always love myself, as I do my best to be the same for her.. We met when she was my Nurse during Heart Surgery..and she’s had my heart ever since.. I love you, gorgeous!! Safe travels, safe deployment and I can’t wait for those “Fair winds and following seas” to bring you back to me and Patty.. Salute to you, Lt. Commander Brainard and all our brave men and women in the Military. #firstname.lastname@example.org

On Easter last year, Zach drove an hour and a half to Akron from PA. He then drove around for another 45 minutes to find a restaurant open so he could bring me Easter dinner since I was stuck at work. He found somewhere, got me three different entrees because he didn’t know what I liked, and then headed to my work where he stayed for 5 hours. I started to see the compassion, dedication, and kindness this man holds in his heart in those 5 short hours.
On Easter this year, I sit at work re-reading the same 3 letters he’s sent and trying to remember every word that was said on his surprise phone call yesterday morning.
I am thankful for the compassion, dedication, and kindness that showed itself last year, and all of the other admirable traits I love so dearly about Zach. I thank God every single day for who Zach is and am left in awe of the perfection in God’s timing and His plans. Trust in Him and remain faithful even when you can’t understand what He’s doing with your life.
Happy Easter, folks 💛
