  • 🧞‍♂️ Who’s seeing #Aladdin this weekend? My 9yo & I saw an advanced screening earlier this week.
🎞 My review: great cinematography, good updates to songs (got goosebumps during “A Whole New World,” Will Smith did a decent job, but I thought the genie cgi wasn’t great. Messages of empowered girls and honorable boys who stay true to themselves still needed! 🍿 My 9yo’s review: “AMAZING!” He loved all the stunts and action scenes, thought the songs (especially “Friend Like Me”) were awesome, and his favorite part was when Jafar got trapped (so basically, the ending). #disney #willsmith #moviereview #ad

  • #Brightburn.. wasn't bad for what it was, #JamesGunn definitely knows how to get at you in one form or another, that's for sure!

I dropped it half a point based on that ominous feeling of dread you get while watching as some of the dark and grim actions taken, kind of keep going.. one make all the ending bittersweet but still. 👀

If you want the opposite of a feel-good movie, this is probably it! I honestly wouldn't mind seeing a sequel of some sort but I'm not 100% sure that there will be a sequel to this even though there is some room, though not much.. But maybe? I want to say more about it but I honestly the more I talk about it the more spoilery it would become.. if you want to know, I'll tell you things in private but I'm not going to address anything publicly on this one since spoiler culture and all.. But yes, if you're wondering about Superman without any of the morality or Humanity, this would be that movie. Gory in scenes and definitely a little bit questionable, it definitely makes one ponder how dark things can get.

I'll give it a three and a half out of five.😅 #ChunkysCinemaPub

  • @detectivepikachumovie wasn’t made for me, but that’s okay, because I still loved it. The @pokemon craze started when I was in college and starting to abandon my video game love affair. That’s cool, because this move was for the fans, one of which is my 9-year-old son, Noah. Knowing that he was counting down the days to when it came out, I took him and his fellow Pokémon aficionado to the movies to see it. How was it? The story is weak, but @vancityreynolds is always worth the price of admission. And hearing his wise-cracking sass come through the cute and plushy Pikachu was a juxtaposition that worked the whole way through. He was hilarious and the quick-wit and sarcasm coming through the diminutive yellow Pokémon continuously caught me off guard. But, that’s not the point of this post I loved experiencing the movie through the eyes of two 9-year-old boys who have been longing to see this world on the big screen. They laughed the whole time and were constantly naming and pointing out the various Pokémon they saw on screen, like fierce Pokémon Zoologists. (Which, according to Screen Rant, there are 54 versions in the film). At some point, Noah felt bad that I wasn’t in on the fun and proceeded to lean over and give me a “who’s who” as they appeared. “Thanks buddy, but it’s okay, you can tell me after the movie,” I whispered back after a few occasions. I’ll never tire of saying this, but I love being a dad. I love how my children remind me that the world is a magical place, full of wonder and hope. Noah has no concept of bankruptcy, debt, or a**hole bosses. In complete freedom, he could get lost in that world onscreen. That’s one of the many gifts of having kids. Through them we are reminded that innocence does still exist in the world. And that’s a good thing! And when you have four kids, like I do, they each see the world through their unique lens, bringing innocence and joy to a whole variety of experiences that I would simply overlook through my adult eyes.
