Shopping with this one. Potty training has been so rough! My oldest was waay easier. Is that how it usually goes?? The first one is easy so it tricks you into thinking tou can handle a second then BOOM. Total opposite. 🤣
Any tips on potty training a stubborn baby?
Oh how I have missed the barbell! I switched my leg day around from a dumbell to a barbell workout and it felt amazing.. was the workout perfect, no as I am out of practice with the bar but it felt so good to play with uncommon territory for me.
And just like that week one is DONE!
I used to go to the gym and be there for an hour and hardly break a sweat, part of that could be because I’d get distracted and not actually get much done. I’m sweating before the warmup is done now.
The program I am doing is all about building muscle. Which I need more and more of everyday. Harper seems to get bigger in the blink of an eye, and though she is small she still weighs more than what I was used to lifting - and she’s not going to be getting any lighter.
Now that I have gotten used to the program I am going to spend the weekend recovering and submerge myself in my nutrition plan. There is no counting calories and you can eat so many things. I have access to a cookbook with almost 300 recipes! Tacos and pizza - both in the cookbook - I’m not saying you can hit up Taco Bell and Pizza Hut and get results.
I am going to try a few new recipes this weekend. I will post the results!
The workout and nutrition programs are built to work together. I can’t wait to see the results at the end of the 8 weeks!
Tomorrow is a rest day, that doesn’t mean I get to sleep in, it means I get up and spend some time focusing on me.

Friday vibes from a towel in a spray tan booth✌🏻✨✌🏻✨
We were not born to be ashamed of our bodies, we are taught to be ashamed of our bodies.💣
Just heard this on a RISE Together Podcast I was listening to. And it seems pretty fitting as the appointment I scheduled for my spray tan in a booth was turned into a spray tan from a technician because they were waiting on equipment and I was instantly self conscious.
I know a spray tan from a technician is better looking, but I was always a little self-conscious to have it done. So today when they offered me a technician tan for the price of the booth tan I took them up on it.
Was it weird standing there all bare? 🤷🏻♀️A little... but then I remembered my mission that I am concerned with healthy habits and one of those healthy habits needs to be a positive body image.
❤️I have worked hard to lose and keep off over 50 pounds for 4 1/2 years.
❤️These arms have let me hold my boys and still caring that carry them around at ages four and seven.
❤️These arms carry on my Target and grocery bags into the house in one trip.
❤️This belly has carried two babies until it was their time to come into this world.
❤️These legs have carried me everywhere, a half marathon, runs around the lake, walks with my family, and keeping up with mom life.
So today’s spray tan was an excellent reminder to me as I go into vacay that even if I’m not where I am thought I would be, even if my hormones are a little messed up, I’m going to love every minute, in every outfit, in every swimsuit, and embrace the body I am in!

12 weeks post partum feels 💪🏼
Slowly getting closer to where I want to be. Im not the most patient person so honestly this post partum journey has been a steep learning curve. Especially as time is a rare commodity at best.
Consistency is key where results are concerned and because I am unable to guarantee I’ll make the gym 5 times per week and hit a different muscle group each time; it has been important to structure my training differently.
I have therefore altered my sessions from muscle group focussed to upper/lower agonist/antagonist superset splits (essentially training the whole body).
This ensures I am able to hit my target areas with adequate volume in order to stimulate an adequate stress response and progress, without missing legs or delts or whatever it might be because I missed one day during the week. It also allows me to progressively increase load and volume as I return to how I used to train prior to pregnancy.
Once I have a bit more routine happening I will again restructure my sessions to purely upper, purely lower etc and further, back to specific muscle groups, gauged by ability and my body’s feedback. But until then, I fully intend to try and embrace and enjoy the journey back to relative normality (or atleast my ‘new normal’) and the feeling that moving my body gives me 🤙🏼
Friday Fun looks different for everyone.
For me I needed paper plates to get me through the weekend and so a quick trip to Target seemed like the right thing to do.
Target Cashier: Did you find everything you were looking for?? Me: Do I have paper products??? *psa I use to be above paper products and then I learned this waste of money is not a waste at all. Just saying moms, judge not!!!
MY mom bod. Ya know... to me. No matter what size, shape, stretch mark, non stretch mark, extra fluff, no extra fluff, wide hips, not wide hips, nursing, bottle feeding, bounce back fast after delivery, not bounce back fast after delivery, cellulite, no cellulite... WHATEVER!!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️ There’s no one size fits all when describing A MOM BOD. If you’re a mom. You have a mom bod and WE ARE ALL BEAUTIFUL IN OUR OWN SKIN! 💕💕 3 kids. 27 months PP. and I made a choice a long time ago to embrace every season of life and love the skin I’m in.✌🏻 Everyday. I just show up for ME- I do the work-and look at it as a JOY instead of a struggle or a chore. 🙏🏻☀️💕
