To perform your best, you have to be laser focused on what you’re doing and what you can control. When you can put your energy and attention on a few key variables, you’ll accomplish things faster and you’ll be more successful overall.

The key to focusing better is to eliminate all “mental clutter.”

By getting rid of the non-essential, you can be more focused on what really fucking matters (and most stuff doesn’t).

A big example is social media. Smartphone apps can be a huge distraction. They aren’t inherently “bad” but they clutter our minds and can take away from more purposeful behaviors or thoughts…especially if you’re checking them throughout the day whenever you get a free moment.

To improve your performance, try to keep your mind as focused and as positive as possible. You may not know the impacts that social media has on your mentality, until you eliminate it from your life for a little while.

Pro tip for iPhone users: You can actually go into “setttings, battery, scroll down to battery usage, then select last 24 hours or last 7 days and hit the clock icon.” It will tell you exactly how much time you spent on there. You can also set limits and boundaries on there :) I highly suggest it.
