  • 🌌Now to the deeper level. If someone's interested, here's the story behind the work. (I'm excited to share! ✨ the sneak peek to the miracles of ☸weaving, creation. And archetypes by #KarlJung). In my previous post I wrote that I created this Ojo having watched Disney cartoon Mulan (and before that I had heard about this character in history lectures). What I mean is, watching this cartoon was the impulse to me to implement the idea. BUT the idea itself had been riping in my soul for some time. What was it?
I think I meant to weave something like a soul (or story) of a strong woman?... Delicate yet strong. And she becomes a warrior. She had to, in order to protect her father... And while I was making this Ojo, all the way throug, I saw it becoming warrior-like, clear-lined... The colors and shapes were forming it.
The idea was clear to me. Yet in the end, when I made the external circle, there was something shamanic about it... I liked it though, and to me, it was on it's place.
Yet it was somewhat confusing, for the 🧠... But then I realised - wait! The #archetypes ! This way it all makes sense - the Wizard (here, the Witch), the Warrior and the Rebel/Outlaw belong to one line of Archetypes! And in this mandala all three of them are traceable - Warrior (structure, clear lines), Rebel (bold colors, unusual non-symmetric color patterns, especially the one in the center), Witch (the external belt makes this Ojo look a bit like a shaman's drum)...
The same way, we can trace the three archetypes in this character. Well, except Witch - I don't know the full story of real prototype of Mulan, but from here I can guess that she also might had shown the archetype Witch, maybe later in her life. As for the main legend, we know this character mainly as Warrior and as the Rebel/Outlaw (because not only was she the disciplined soldier, she also went against the rules of the society and had to face the rejection). And again, I repeat - I didn't rationally work on the ideas, it all was falling together, while I only had some impression in my head. And some ideas emerged while I was making the Ojo. ✨ 🌌Now to the deeper level. If someone's interested, here's the story behind the work.
