I almost made a goodbye bike video. 👋°
Then I realized it was just a material good. But there's a real story behind the scenes of what actually happens, and some people just don't get the credit for it.
I had an original trek bike that was made of lightweight titanium metal that a good friend named Bob gave me back in high school. I stopped getting rides to school, so this was my go to transportation vehicle. I rode that thing with a duffle bag that was bigger than me on my side, in my lap, on top of the handlebars, and I did all sorts of things to open up my own mobile store to become known as the Candyman at Torrance High School.
As time passes and we mature, we come to find that titles don't matter anymore, and we learn that inside we are so much more than just one thing that may have shaped our past. Eventually, when I was at my lowest I had my car taken from me. I had no money, and my bike was stolen from the porch of my apartment. I had no idea what I was going to do, and it was devastating!
The day I found out my bike was stolen, I asked around the guilty faces of the construction workers, and my neighbor Fred was willing to give me a ride to the police station. The apartment complex did nothing. However, my friend @mighty_pasha did something for me. I was at the police station to file a report, and I must have had like $3 for the bus ride home, and I called my friend. He picked me up, and after sharing the changes in my story, he gave me a clean Trek bike that was sitting in his garage.

I hadn't realized the shocks on my bike were busted until I started bouncing around on this thing! Not only did he give me a bike that basically saved my life for transportation at this time, but he also hooked me up with a pair of Sperry shoes, and when I started dancing, he gave me his Air Jordans.

When I lost this bike, I thought of how I might have disappointed him and all the people that were there to help me. I felt the pain of being a failure and losing all that was spent to get me here, and then I let it go. I felt gratitude for what I did have, and not for what I didn't. 2 weeks later I got a call, and my bike had been found.
