  • GLUTEN FREE LONDON: Delicious sushi in central London - I'm a sucker for sushi from @wholefoodsuk Piccadilly and it's so fresh and good and is one of my go tos when I am in the area. They have a few gf varieties, including this avocado and salmon roll with spicy sauce (and brown rice sushi too, which is ace). Speak to the sushi chefs at the counter if you are unsure which to choose. 🍣 GLUTEN FREE LONDON: Delicious sushi in central London - I'm a sucker for sushi from @wholefoodsuk Piccadilly and it's so fresh and good and is one of my go tos when I am in the area. • After a visit to @mao_chow with Hackney local @misscfy, I only ever want to eat vegan Chinese if it can taste this good every time.
And just to put it out there, I got to it before Time Out did, thanks @bertiebrandes’ expert knowledge.
Between two we literally ordered the whole menu bar the desserts.
To start, the Guai Wei cucumber in a sesame sauce was a taste explosion. I need to try and recreate that with my cucumber dishes at home - recipe please!
The bao buns were both sensational: the braised jackfruit one was inspired and the crispy oyster mushroom with daikon and peanuts was insanely delicious.
Next up we had the twice cooked Yu Xiang aubergine with doubanjiang and jasmine rice - you could never step a foot wrong with this. And this was served at the same time as my personal favourite dish of the night, the Dan Dan noodles - spicy sesame noodles with ‘mince’, cucumber and pak Choi. The sauce that enveloped the noodles was so incredibly moorish, I couldn’t stop even though I was full to the brim.
I washed this all down with a delicious organic (and vegan) Prosecco.
The restaurant itself seats about 8-10 diners at a push, and I was gobsmacked at the level of food that came out of a kitchen no bigger than the size of my desk at the office. Serious props to the chef and staff here.
Couldn’t recommend it more and I cannot wait to go again. The pictures will not do justice to the amazing flavour combinations experienced here.
