I know Pride Month is about celebrating all spectrums every day, but I saw somewhere that June 25th was proclaimed “Androgyne” day, so I wanted to take a moment to give a huge, happy shout-out to all the beautiful androgynous people out there. Now why am I taking this time to post about one specific part of the spectrum? Because this part of the LGBTQ+ community is where I reside. I’ve been androgynous my entire life pretty much, but I only found the term about a month or two ago, and once I did, it brought me an odd form of .. relief? Calm? Like it finally gave me a straightforward term that I could use to describe who I am. I’ve never been a person to fit myself into “categories” or “boxes,” but sometimes it’s nice to have a way to easily express who you are.
Being “androgynous” can mean many different things, as it is a fairly broad umbrella term, but I identify with the basic and overall definition: not fully masculine, but also not fully feminine – I float in the grey area in between. “Androgynous” for me is a term for gender expression, not sex identity (so yes, my pronouns are she/her and I intend to have them remain that way as long as that’s the way I feel). However, that does not mean that I feel comfortable within the cis-gendered stereotypes that I’ve been pushing against for years. I want to wear suits and waistcoats, not dresses and skirts. But I also may want to wear heels every now and then, and paint my nails and throw on some gleaming jewelry. Being androgynous for me has nothing to do with my pronouns or biological sex, it has to do with breaking down the walls between “girl things” and “boy things” and living happily in the area in between.
Happy Pride Month to all the beautiful people in this world who know who they are and choose to fight for themselves and the people they love! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

Here’s a message I got today in regards to being an ally. I don’t get messages like these TOO often... but when I do, it makes me both laugh AND cry. Laugh because people think that messages like these could actually make a difference. Cry because these people whole-heartedly believe what they are saying is true. I feel like individuals like this will be so saddened when they one day stand in front of Jesus and His kingdom, and see that indeed, ALL are welcome.
