The Preikestolen of South Africa ✨ This was my very first day camping in the mountains this year and waking up to such beautiful amazing scenes reminds me how worth it is putting in the effort to stay over night at place like this! Thanks @karl_shakur for snapping this beauty ✨ Would you dare standing on the edge? #yellowjacketjourney
Photography gives me the motivation to force myself out of a cozy bed and into a cold long hike, sometimes in the dark. It's all for views like this. This world is blessed enough to know that there are many mornings that look like this in the valley, but this one was ours. How lucky we are to live in a world that looks like this. ✨🖤
I'm home but my head is wondering through the bush, dipping warm toes in the cool stream, my ears are pricked up with the calls of the tui and the wings of the kereru - the native wood pigeon, the winds are dancing through tree ferns encouraging them to unwind with the breeze.
The forest breathes with a sunny surround sound sigh of satisfaction of a beautiful warm day.
Boards creak under my worn flip flops which flip/flop against my soles onwards, winding along the jungle paths down towards the peace of a lakeside.
A place sheltered from the wind and lays still as a mirror, nestled within a pocket of serene greeness of the bush. Snow capped mountains towering over the lands in the distance, dragonflies spiralling me to capture my attention and the warm sun kissing my face.
A photograph opens a portal to a special place in time ♥
These sounds I'll never forget 🌴

The building is the old part of what today is called Hotel Skansen. It was originally build as a granary in 1877 but in the 1920’s it was rebuild as a hotel and has stayed like that since then. 🏨
