  • “When Christ calls a man, he bids him come and die.”
#Deitrich #Bonhoeffer, The Cost of Discipleship John 12:24-26 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal. If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.

I have been reading this devo for about 5years and this is by far my favorite Oswald Chambers devo; the “White funeral” knowing that the death He calls us to is a rebirth & life onto the wedding supper of the lamb (Revelation 19) where we trade our temporary life and outward man that is perishing onto eternal Life as His bride that has made herself ready in “fine linen, bright and clean was given to her to wear.” #allthingsnew#theoldhaspassedaway#clothedinrighteousness#Hisglory#Reborn#Justified#Sanctified#Glorified “When Christ calls a man, he bids him come and die.” #deitrich #bonhoeffer, The Cost of Discipleship John 12:24-26 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. • Repost @natedavis17: I took this picture at The Museum of the Bible in Washington DC on Friday. This is the original Papyrus 39, a fragment of John 8:14-22. It is dated between 250-300 AD (so less than 3 centuries from its original). The amazing thing is the text matches our bibles today and judging from the letters, this was penned by a scribe nearly 2000 years ago with very professional handwriting. I posted this simply to say that, when it comes to the Bible, no other work of antiquity comes close to purity of Textual transmission, or reliability in ascertaining the original readings. People can mock its content, but to say “we can’t know what it originally said” is naively stupid. People don’t balk whenever Plato is read (even though the earliest text is 800 years after his death) yet many will be hyperskeptics of the Bible when we have P52, mere decades removed from the original text of the Gospel of John. The Bible is unrivaled in its character, authorship, and preservation. Studying the Textual transmission of the Bible forever sealed my faith on this matter. This stuff really happened, and faith indeed does have substance. I am left with no other conclusion than to repent and believe. 📜John 8:14 “Even if I do bear witness about myself, my testimony is true, for I know where I came from and where I am going, but you do not know where I come from or where I am going”📜 (first verse written on P39). #SolaScriptura #SolaFide #SolaGratia #SolusChristus #SoliDeoGloria #Reformed #ReformedTheology #Calvinism #DoctrinesOfGrace #Sovereignty #God #Jesus #Christ #JesusChrist #Yeshua #Messiah #Christianity #Christian #Bible #Exegesis #SavedByFaith #Justified #Church #Trinity #GodInThreePersons #History - #regrann Repost @natedavis17: I took this picture at The Museum of the Bible in Washington DC on Friday. Rhapsody Of Realities Daily Devotional

HE DOESN’T KEEP RECORD OF SIN

Sunday, January 13th .
Pastor Chris
_*For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more (Hebrews 8:12).*_
Too many are enslaved by the memories of their past. They could be cheerful one moment and depressed the next, all because they remembered something they did in the past. But did you know that from the moment you were born again, your past ceased to exist?
2 Corinthians 5:17 says, _*“...if any man be in Christ, He is a new creature, old things are passed away, behold, all things are become new.”*_ The Christian is a new creation, and the new creation has no past; he never existed before.
Your old nature, the old you and everything about your earthly, natural human life was supplanted by the life and nature of God at the New Birth. When God looks at you now, He doesn’t see an old, wretched, struggling “sinner saved by grace”; rather, He sees Christ, because you’re in Christ. And in Christ, you’ve been made righteous; you’re the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.
Something so extraordinary that Jesus accomplished for us is remission of sins. Our sins—past, present, and future—were remitted ever before we came into Christ; this was legal. But we came into the vital experience when we were born again. So, even when you remember a past mistake and you feel bad and ask God to forgive you over and over again, He doesn’t have the record; He doesn’t remember.
Speaking to Israel, concerning this new covenant, He said, _*“…their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more”*_ (Hebrews 10:17). Do you think He’d relate to us any less, considering that we’re fruits of this new covenant, established upon better promises?
Christ Jesus paid the full penalty for sin in His death on the Cross. The Bible says it was necessary that Christ should suffer for our sins (Luke 24:46); and now we walk in newness of life. #biblestudy #revelationknowledge #epignosis #love #justified #christianquotes #joy #raphsodyofrealities #grace #rhema #sinhasnodominionoverme #jesuspaiditall Rhapsody Of Realities Daily Devotional HE DOESN’T KEEP RECORD OF SIN Sunday, January 13th .
