I’ve combined two of my favorite things for a while now - minimalism and journaling. It’s something that I really enjoy doing and it’s also helping me with my personal mission of having less random crap.📦📦
Last week I was in Florida. I almost bought about 5 million different gaudy tourist shirts, but then I realized they would end up as sad little gym rags and/or in the Goodwill bin ASAP. So, instead I kept mementos (my coaches wristband, fluorescent parking badges, and other shit) and put it in my journal. I don’t need a t-shirt to remember going to Nationals in Florida.🐊🐊
The other week my parents gave me a few boxes from my childhood bedroom. There were books, horrible elementary school art pieces (DAD WHY DO YOU STILL HAVE THESE?!), and a lot of cute cards from grandparents. I didn’t keep it all. I DID cut out notes from cards that my grandparents wrote (pictured here), and 90’s Christmas wrapping paper and taped them into my journal with cute washi tape. It makes me happy to see all of those things in one place. It also makes me happy to know that all the other stuff I didn’t keep - random toys, outfits that matched with my American Girl Doll, and my 1,829 stuffed animals are going to people that won’t keep them in boxes.
Do you practice minimalism? Gimme all your tips + tricks! 😘
