A closer look at the hull art on Norwegian Cruise Line ships.
Have you ever noticed how vibrant the hulls are on Norwegian Cruise Line ships? These incredible works of art have been showcased in photos taken by cruise passengers around the world. And rightfully so, as they really are significant works of art. Norwegian Cruise Line first started its hull artwork concept with Norwegian Dawn when she entered service back in 2002. In 2013, Norwegian Cruise Line decided to take its hull art program to the next level by commissioning world-renowned artists to create signature artwork for their new ships. If you'd like to channel these exquisite works of art at home, why not attend a live art auction while on board your Norwegian Cruise Line ship? Park West Gallery represents several of the talented hull artists, so you can grab a great deal while bringing home a little piece of the sea with you. Or a skyline. But not a mermaid. #norwegiancruiseline#art#hullart#cruiseship#cruise#travelphotography#instaart
Mindfulness is all well and good but sometimes you need someone to tell you when you’re flogging a dead horse. Newest edition to my mirror series. I had originally planned on this being the first one I printed a few weeks ago but thought it might be an overly negative thing to make and put out into the world. I was wrong. I consider myself an optimistic pessimist, which leads me to believe that giving up is not always a bad thing. Don’t let other people’s false happiness make you feel bad about the lack of your own. #giveup#miseryisalltherage#livelaughlove
Just a little update for those wondering why I've been quiet on social media over the past few months. I've had to put painting aside for the time being due to studying my Masters Degree in Sheffield. With living in Hull and working in York also, this makes it extremely difficult to find any time to do anything else. I will however be returning back to painting in the summer once I have free time. I have some exciting paintings planned and look forward to starting them.
In the meantime, don't forget if you're in town this weekend and have a spare moment, please check out the Ferens Open Exhibition which runs until the end of April. Pictured here in the centre is 'Market Place, Beverley' which is currently for sale. .

This is my chapter of a collaborative book project from 1980 as part of my degree - ‘The Maritime Life of Kingston Upon Hull’
Second photo shows some of the original linocut prints . I was pleased to be chosen to produce the design for the end papers. The book was printed letterpress and auto-lithography. I love the green colour I chose for the final printing - just shows how current it still looks nearly 40 years later!!
We’ve been busy pulling all our art supplies together, shopping for paints, aprons, easels, music and more.
