Sneak peak at a new room we are adding to our Moulding Design Guide. This room is inspired by a Greek Revival home built in Englewood, NJ in the 1830’s. We modified the cornice detail which includes a clean cove and a picture rail profile to increase the visual height. We think that it will still provide a sophisticated look for a new construction or remodel project built today.
We are putting in long hours and a lot of sweat getting this beautiful property ready.
Instead of picking out a off the shelf fence we picked a blue stained pine. Each piece of wood has a unique pattern and character.
Our bedroom, looking a bit worse for wear. It was once yellow, apparently! And one of the many ceiling holes is visible in my dressing table mirror. I fell in love with the dressing table when we viewed the house and the wonderful previous owners left it for us 😍 Plasterer is coming tomorrow to start filling in the various holes in our walls/ceilings. Progress!
Tip Tuesday Y’all! 🎉 Joining two slabs together is a very crucial process and one way to ensure you are doing it correctly is to install dowels that will help hold and pull the two slabs together 💪🏼 Be sure to inspect your foundation before every pour! 😃👌🏼
Our amazing customer service representative, Annie, has a great collection of Chimney Swift bird's nests. The Chimney Swift is a federally protected migratory bird and is only seen from late April to September. They build their nests inside chimneys for shade and protection from other predators. 🐦
Have you seen a Chimney Swift in your chimney?
Finally got the finishing touches to the ground floor! What hadn't been touched in 30-40 years has now been replaced/repaired and decorated in a total of 9 weeks...hopefully, it won't be left that long again! This is the first big renovation I've managed and it will not be the last as I've learnt a hell of a lot in the process to help with the next one. There are a few other trades I could tag in that worked on it like joiners and roofers etc but none of them are on social media so forget them I done this all myself 😁.
Is my home my dream home? No, it’s not. I fanaticise about the little country cottage with log burners and hard wood floors. What I have couldn’t be further from that. It’s a new build, but I needed Help to Buy, so it’s the best I could do. I started this page so I could stop boring my family with little updates but so far I haven’t shown much at all. I started following all these people with the most gorgeous homes and admired those like @grove_cottage_ and @notthecitylife and felt like my little new build was not worthy or ‘instagram ready’ but I have decided to focus on my own goals, make the most of what I have and be proud of it. #newbuildhome#interiordesign#homedecor#makingahouseahome#smallhome#homeimprovement
