Being a mama is one of the hardest, most rewarding things I've ever done in my life. Today in church we talked about the next generation and how the NOW generation has to be involved in providing wisdom and training them up to change the world..
All I could think of were my kids. My almost 3 year old, and the miracle baby we get to welcome into our family this summer. As a mama, I am responsible for training up my children in the way they should go - and teaching them to love the Lord with all their heart. It's hard when sometimes I don't feel like a good example of that. I am responsible for fashioning these children to be weapons against the enemy, and when I let go of my arrows, they need to be prepared to hit the mark. .
The lifestyle I model for them, and the things that I do to build character in them, will set them up for greatness. The words I speak to them and over them will either wound them, or build them.
I choose to speak favor. Life. Prosperity. Greatness. Boldness. World shaker. History maker. Called to do great things for the Kingdom. I choose to raise the next generation to do the same.
What will you speak?
Indifference was achieved when no matter how bad, no matter how much it hurt (how terrified or miserable), you executed with exact aggression on target. Precise violence of action.
Indifference was critical to your ability to perform on target. To be physically, emotionally and mentally willing to enter a building and clear a room knowing full well that on the other side awaits an enemy ready to kill you is not normal. Face this fact right now. To combat the terror of a life stepping into the breach, you have been conditioned to ignore your emotions. Taught to excuse the fear, the pit in your stomach, taught to harness the adrenaline coursing through your veins and focus all your being into acts of unprecedented and calculated violence.
Here’s what we didn’t teach you: how to stop being indifferent. How to feel again.
How after embracing a culture of violence, there is on the other side a lifetime of peace, should you choose to accept it. A life of home. I fear this is killing us. Literally. Killing our families, our friendships, our coveted brotherhood and our communities as we kill ourselves. We bought into a necessary reality for the days when we stood in the breach, but today at home in America, we hang on to a lie: you must be indomitable, still.
Vulnerability is not weakness. While antithetical to your training as a war fighter, in life, vulnerability equates to strength.
Anger, fear, shame, uncertainty, pride, regret, joy and sadness. These are emotions. You are feeling again. This is normal. Welcome home. Now let’s get to work.
Let’s cut the crap. Start being honest with ourselves and with each other. Call that buddy of yours, but do it with a spirit of vulnerability. Author @brenebrown talks a great deal about vulnerability, citing shame as the major barrier for living “whole heartedly,” or with a spirit of vulnerability and openness.

There is no place for humanity in war, there is no place for war in humanity. If, as a nation or dictator, you have a requirement that a war be fought by any human in your kingdom, without you yourself engaging in the very perils of said conflict, all rights to prescribe morality ergo are omitted. War is not for man, it is for the cannibals. When the victor of the game played is decided by which side brings more death upon the other we create an existence outside of the parameters of civilization. To affix rules to such a scenario is contemptuous and often only done so by those who themselves would never dare engage in such acts as the intentional mutilation of another human being. There is no civilized way to remove the soul from a thinking, feeling, living, loving, breathing thing regardless how strict the rules of engagement.
Cast away the pretentious nature of so-called civilities and send those cannibals to feast, cease with the spurious concept of a noble conflict or take direct opposition to its very existence. But do not tell the killing man how to kill, for he is the one who swims in the ocean of those decisions while stones cast from those upon the shore. Beyond all else, it is well known at this stage in history that when you make a cannibal of man he will never again return to the fruit of the earth for sustenance. Externally and internally cast out to roam among the others whose disposition is too taboo to discuss. The act of or assignment of the killing of one man for the sake of anything other than direct personal protection is, as such, the homicide of all of humanity. If we are marked to fight, let us shed the constraints of such rules and let the battle commence. If we are to mitigate the act of mutilation let us be done with war and all the hell it creates. #rltw@havokjournal
