Anyone know what made these? They were all over the beach in perfect lines and they ran for long length... not a bike, and no footprints around them 🤔 so cool though
So stinking proud of these three! They made it to the top! On our way to the trailhead I talked to them about how what they are about to do is going to be hard. That they will want to turn back. They will want to quit at some point. That they are going to be challenged physically and mentally but they are more than capable. I explained how their inner voice will dictate their ability to make it to the top.
About half way I thought, we aren’t going to make it. We are having to stop too often. They are starting to look defeated and we have so long to go. So I gave them the choice, turn back and try again some other time or keep going. They looked at each other said “no we really want to make it!” And then asked to start setting distance goals.
This was the turning point. I kept hearing “we can do this. We are strong. If those people can, we can. We aren’t quitters. We are going to feel so proud at the top. Keep going. We have already gone so far!” It was such a testimony to me of how belief triggers the power to do, how accomplishing something hard makes you so incredibly proud and how setting small tangible goals can get you to your ultimate goal!
Love these little teachers and adventurers of mine!!! Ps. Short legs rode on my shoulders for almost 3 miles so if I say my neck is sore tomorrow, remind me of this haha!
Oh one more thing!!! Check out my stories to see the boys get a bit brave for my mama nerves.
