Lets be real for a second!! I will be lying if i said that i didn't absolutely looovveee what i looked like 2 years ago. Tiny, fitting into anything i wanted, looking good from any angle when a picture was taken.
BUT this is me also making people aware of what could happen when trying to crash into a 12 week plan and not sticking to what needs to be done afterwards.
2017(first picture🐞)➡️ followed a 12 week contest prep(not my first show so i knew exactly what it was going to take from me to get to stage) with an absolutely amazing coach. BUT went into this prep also knowing that i suffer from a eating disorder (binge eating disorder that developed from a previous competition prep) and was only using this prep to get "my body back", and also secretly hoping this was the answer to make my disorder disappear.
Mid 2017/2018(middle picture🐞)➡️ after a 14 week competition prep it was only as short as a week before i had my "episodes"of binging again. Purging is when you try to undo what you did after inhaling copious amounts of food, and i purged by restricting myself again. This cycle continued for atleast over a year and a half. Restricting/ binging/restricting /binging.
Besides what this does to you body and hormones, i can't even begin to tell you whag this does to your mind !!! It feels like you don't have control over your own body.
( i dont have any full body pictures as i ALWAYS removed myself from any picture that was about to be taken. The picture in the middle was taken last year, which is actually scary how quick things can change if you ACTIVELY change)
2019(last picture🐞)➡️ this year is the year i ACTIVELY focused on change. And the reason why i say actively is because I wasn't only saying I was going to make a change, i was actively making a change. A change in mindset, a change on how i look at myself, a change on how i value myself and where i feel my worth "comes from".
And just being 150%myself, accepting myself and my past, and nevvveeeer looking back.
I encourage EVERYONE, Man / Woman to actively do what you set yourself up to do. To do what is absolute best for you and future you❤
Taking time to do things for yourself. I decided this year to go back to studying just a short course to see if I could even do it (I haven’t studied in 9 years) my goal is to hopefully go back to uni and actually graduate this time. It’s always been a dream of mine to be a university graduate. Not sure if this will actually happen but it’s never too late to start something! #debtfreecommunity#debtfreejourney#goals#tafe#mumlife#saving#debtfreelife#ozsavingcommunity
Truth be told 🙋🏻♀️
Oh and the creators, the innovators, the dreamers, the inspiring, the do’ers, the game changers, the motivators, the believers and the thinkers. .
So much love for all of my unique and gorgeous goddesses. Thank you for ALWAYS believing in me, supporting me and having my back. So grateful for you all 👸🏻💕✨
Who you surround yourself with is 100% who you will become. I absolutely promise you that your environment is so damn POWERFUL! If you have people who aren’t serving you in a positive way and don’t make you feel worthy, promise me to remove them
You are SO totally deserving of being surrounded by those that empower you to level up, encourage you with your passions and pour so much love into you!
Being “present” is one of the most difficult things to do. There are so many easy ways not to be...technology, habit, avoidance, future tripping, anxiety...the list goes on...
Today I was offered the idea: “let thinking guide feeling, rather than letting feeling guide our thoughts”...I stopped and spent time with that concept.
Phillip Roth said, “You be greater than your feelings. I don't demand this of you - life does. Otherwise you'll be washed away by feelings. You'll be washed out to sea and never seen again”
By thinking first, perhaps we are provided the grace of wisdom...before the reaction. Tricky for a feelings based person like myself. Can we consciously move closer to the ability to be in the “now” with out auto-piloting around to old behaviors? Do we do this through the mind or heart?
Maybe it’s by making intentional choices that feed our heart that keeps us from being “washed out to sea” and closer to our goals.
How you look and feel today is a result of how you lived in the past. .
How you live today is going to result in how you feel tomorrow. .
Every action you make is a small vote for the future you want.
Is that a vibrant future of health and vitality or struggle and dismay about what could have been?
There is never going to be a better time than now to start. .
Life won't get slower and less complicated.
There's no magic Monday. .
If it were easy everyone would be doing it but isn't anything worth doing difficult?
I was lucky enough to get behind the scenes of Currumbin Sanctuary's koala conversation and see these beautiful creatures up close. But unfortunately even with the amazing work they provide this Aussie icon is still classified as vulnerable as are many other native wildlife. So here are a few simple ways that you can help!
• Leave out some water in the backyard
• Practice responsible pet ownership by keeping your cats inside and dogs on leash
• If you see roadkill stop and move it off of the road so other animals won't be killed eating off it.
• If you see a kangaroo on the side of the road check it's pouch for a Joey.
• Plant native flora
And remember to be the voice for the voiceless 💚🐻
