I took this photograph a while ago, thinking about my dad. Dads are the best. They protect you with few words exchanged during the process. They teach you to be outspoken/assertive (maybe not intentionally 😝), independent, to think about things logically/rationally, to develop a moral compass/have strong values, and to live life with a lot of jokes along the way. My best memories of my dad were his jokes and the ability to laugh at himself even when he’s feeling most vulnerable or nervous. Missing you sooooo much today 💗
Okay once I was working with cheetahs.
No baby they are not scary. They are very different from other big cats. If you are in the wild and you see a lion or a leopard you're fucked. They can kill you just for fun. But if you see a cheetah he's gonna run away from you. You see, cheetahs are not very good fighters and they know that. Usually they hunt small antelope so anything higher they would consider a threat. As a result they are completely non confrontational animals. Cheetah have evolved for the single purpose only. The speed. Their whole body is a perfect adaptation for the fast run. Small aerodynamic head and small weak jaws, loose skeleton, powerful muscles with minimum bodyfat. As a result they became the fastest animal on land. They can reach the speed up to 120 km/h. But the most amazing thing is acceleration: they can go from 0 to 80 km/h in less than 3 seconds. And when they reach full speed they go in leaps. Each leap is up to 10 meters long and they can do 3 of those isone second. You know how a housecat can hide their claws? All the cats can, thats one of the thing that separetes them from dogs. Except for cheetahs. They need their claws for the better grip during fast runs so they always stay out. Also cheetah is the only big cat that can not roar but can purr. On avarage hey have around 2000 black spots on their body and the partern is unique for every cheetah. And if you were to shave all the furr from him he would still have the spots on his skin.
There are only 7100 cheetahs lest in the whole world in the wild. And thr population keeps decreasing every year. And the maim teason is people. In africa there are farms everywhere. So the cheetah simply has no home anymore. He has to share the habitat with lions, hainas and leopards - predictors who are much stronger and cheetah can not stand the competition. It's not very ling till this majestic animal would be on the edge of extinction.
