You can never go wrong with Kibo sushi. We opted to eat in their small cozy restaurant but Kibo is most frequently a takeout joint as we witnessed hoards of food delivery services and people stopping by after work to grab takeout sushi. The sushi is always high quality, very affordable (5$ per roll) and the spicy salmon is actually spicy! Arguably the best budget sushi shop in downtown Toronto, but if you have your favourite budget sushi, we would love to try it!
Since nobody is asking, let me tell you how I am able to eat a lot of different dishes in a short period of time. I simply share my food experiences with my friends. I make us order one dish and share it among us so we all get to experience a bite and still have stomach room for other dishes. I don’t like wasting food, so we as a team do try to finish off everything we buy. #cheers
You know how whenever you go past Berry, you gotta stop for some donuts. Well if you go through Blue Mountains, you gotta stop for hot custard pies 🤤🤤🤤🤤. These were just divine!!! I would buy a box of these and eat them on every Blue Mountains road trip. #foreverchanged
This has been the best pie I have ever eaten so far. It’s called the breakfast pie from @mountainhighpizzapie and it’s an insane pie. For $8, you’re getting a pie with sausages mixed with kidney beans and tomato base, lined with bacon and piped potato. And then placed on top, a poach egg with hollandaise sauce 🤤🤯 . It’s so amazingly great to get a big breakfast in one pie for $8. Every time I go through Blue Mountains, I’m always going to make a pit stop at this humble establishment ☺️. #poachedeggs#bigbreakfast#unsteadyhands

From pale to a rich golden amber colour! It’s hard to believe it’s spelt, isn’t it? I tried rye (as original sourdough is made with rye) but spelt works best for me. Of all the flours I tried I had the best outcome with @mollerens spelt flour. What’s your favourite flour to bake sourdough?

I’m moving to a new place and that’s the last bread I baked in this apartment. It’s also the apartment I baked my first ever sourdough bread & grew my sourdough starter in! Swipe for a little tb to 27th February 2018 when I proudly held my first sourdough baby 🍞👶🏼
Everything here in this pic was bomb af!! I love how cheesy the Philly Cheese Steak was, and how crispy the panini was as well (I love pesto anything btw).
The side of chicken tortilla soup was pleasantly spicy (without it overpowering) as a side soup.
The two drinks, Passion Fruit and Cucumber Lime, were both refreshing for a hot day. I’d definitely come by more often if I lived closer!! Thank you for having us @theflinderstreetcafe 😁
In 2019 I vowed to challenge myself in the kitchen, from learning to cook new dishes, to posting recipes, and pics for friends to enjoy, all new adventures for me. I honoured that vow this weekend by making Moroccan Chicken Bastilla, and boy was it a challenge, an enjoyable one at that. I love Moroccan cuisine, it’s use of spices and flavour layering is certainly complex and extremely delightful. If you have never sampled Moroccan food then make it a priority for 2019 as you will love it. Bastilla is a dish I had discovered in a local Moroccan restaurant a couple of years ago, it’s a mix of sweet and savory with an amazing crunch and so many spices. I never imagined it had so many components, mixing meat with sugar, eggs with nuts, it’s truly amazing and takes cooking to a higher level. For this Bastilla I used filo pastry, as non of the local shops stocked Moroccan warka pastry, so I wonder how the taste differs. I can’t say my bastilla was perfect, but I’m certainly proud of my first attempt. I dream to visit Morocco one day soon so I can delight in its amazing food and hospitality ❤️ welcome to week 4 of the campaign to highlight Arab food. This week is about spices, so this dish was the perfect feature, as it included saffron, ginger, turmeric, black pepper, cinnamon and sugar! An unusual mix that works perfectly. Enjoy ❤️ #aprilisforarabfood#morocco#moroccanfood#bastilla#washingtondc#foodadventure#cooking#newrecipe#foodfun#nomnom#foodie#foodblogger#filopastry#spices#northafricanfood#instabake#sweetandsavory#بسطيلة#اكلات_مغربية#بسطيلة_مغربية
