“Tight” Shoulders and Back? .
Pain and tightness are symptoms not causes. To overcome these symptoms of tightness for the better start looking beyond static / passive stretching and start thinking about moving your joints under tension. .
Tightness is your nervous systems way of providing stability to an area under tension. This tension is often a perceived feeling of “tightness”.
Send better signals to your nervous system that will last the test of time.
Swipe 👉🏻 for a few examples to overcome this tightness.
1️⃣ Weighted thoracic Cat - Cow. Imagine segmenting the spine through each vertebrae. Maintain tension through the box as you push the hands into the surface area. Start with a light weight.
2️⃣ Shoulder CARS with adductor cue. Drive the knee into the foam roller and use the inside arm also to push into the wall this will maximise irradiation.
3️⃣ Banded scapular push ups on all 4s. Feel free to regress to kneeling. Keep the lumbar spine still as the focus is solely on moving the scapular through retraction and protraction. .
By all means use passive stretching as the “icing” on the cake. To speed up your progress learn how control each joint properly first. .

Im a little person... so its my son who is fast getting close to puberty ... his height is starting to bug him... and I know about this !and he is a boy wich gatta be 10 times harder thn it was for me, but even for me as a girl was so hard and full.of bulling, big kids with mean minds see little people as perfect target to throw up their shit for their own inferiority issues and have no idea how deep they can hurt someone, in any case I let my son know it took me time to discover that the little body God gave me was never the curse I thought it was but a blessing... Circus gave me the space to discover that the way my body is built it alows me to do things most people in the world can't do and it helps me to do it easier. I luckly dont need as much trainning time as most of the people because my body is light and small and builts strength very fast, what im trying to say is there is a bigger plan than the little story we get to see in front of us, It remained me to always be grateful for what I have and trust the universe , knowing it will take us were we belong if we are open to it and we were sent to. the game of life with the tools we need to go through it and also keep evolving, those tools are our talents and gifts, also our bodies, mind, instincts, tests. So as I told my much loved son Yerik, being small its not easy but could.be a blessing too, We have to become strong and tug to survive this jungle, .... and also.be smarter , we are also faster and cute so we can get people put their defenses down, and also get help for all the tasks our height makes hard to do like reaching stuff up high! Lol... at the end i wonder, was it ever that bad? Love all you are. 🤯 Which one is your curse that might be a disguised gift?
One year and half progress with this bridge 🥳
Starting to practice contortion with 28 with no gymnastics background (I was a swimmer) it is challenging! Mostly because of the lack of contortion knowledge in Europe 😪
Even if I am naturally flexible, contortion isn’t only about being flexible 😉
Contortionist are extremely strong as well!! 🔥
Sep. 17: I started to progress my bridge by trying to bring the chest to the wall as I saw in a video 😀 not very successful 🤣
Nov. 17: I understood more or less the pose, but I didn’t have a coach to guide me 🙄
June 18: After a break with backbends, I tried it again. Being stronger helped me going deeper. Yet I was only bending my lower back 👎
Jan. 19: FIRST time EVER I felt my ripcage opening and my pelvic bone lifting. Also, first time bending the WHOLE SPINE 🙌🏼 soooo thankful for the trainings in 🇺🇸 where I learnt the right technique🔥
Biggest learning: be consistent with your practice and try to learn from professional contortionists, it really pays off! 🤗
