All right people, here’s my biggest TAKEAWAY from this week’s acting class: “PRIDE comes from the FEAR of having something to LOSE.” I came up with that one myself, after having an epic meltdown in the Studio last Friday that nearly cost me my career.
I was feeling frustrated, angry, defeated. I couldn’t concentrate. My performance felt wooden. I was squirming in my seat. Nothing felt right. And when it came time to reflect on my experience, I absolutely flew off the handle — railing at the profession, railing at the instructors, railing at myself for not delivering the goods. My most childish complaint went something like this: “There’s a 12-year-old kid in the Advanced class with better acting skills than me! If he can do it, why can’t I?” That’s when Coach set me straight, telling me I was not entitled to any special treatment, that I had to EARN my stripes just like everyone else in the class. And as much as that annoyed me, I had to admit he was right.
Later that night, I got to THINKING....and I came to the PROFOUND REALIZATIONS that I share with you in the pictures above.
Seeing it as a hard copy really brought it to life. WOW! Your girl is published 🏆 Another goal ticked off ✅
Definitely need to order a few more to show my children in the future!
