A get asked what age is best to introduce cutlery and I always say from day 1, you can never offer it too soon. Just pop it on the highchair and let your baby watch you use yours and slowly start to understand its purpose.
When your just getting started the silicon spoons that come free with the large Easymats are wonderful (photographed) or IKEA's KALAS cutlery is great and only costs £1.20!
So I planned a risotto but unusually I had NO arborio rice... Not to be deterred I used barley instead. It needs a little more love and cooking time but produces good results...! This version of risotto used leftover lamb and the beautiful lamb stock that came with it. So LOTS of flavour here. Great Tuesday night food. Big pile of brocoli served on the side btw😉
Vegan dinner for everyone to make life simple...Indian spiced chickpea ‘burgers’ with cumin roasted broccoli (had tonnes of broccoli to use up!), coriander salsa and raita(with coconut yoghurt). Asian Salmon Parcels
I love cooking fish using the “En papillote” method. It seals in the flavour, ensures deliciously moist fish, creates very little mess and washing up, which is always a bonus. I like to serve the fish in the parcel on the plate so people can open their own and enjoy the aroma as they open it. Serve with rice or noodles. See my stories.
1 teaspoon miso paste
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1 teaspoon honey
Juice of 1 lime
4 salmon fillets
2 cloves garlic - finely sliced
1 thumb sized piece of ginger - cut into matchsticks
1 chilli - sliced
1 tablespoon - coriander 1 teaspoon of sesame seeds (optional)
4 pieces A4 parchment paper or foil ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Preheat the oven to 220 degrees.
Mix the marinade ingredients in a bowl. Place each salmon fillet in the centre of the parchment paper, so that the salmon is vertical and the paper is horizontal. Coat the salmon with the marinade and top each one with, garlic, ginger, chilli, coriander, sesame seeds and seasoning. Wrap the parcels up by taking each end, folding and sealing the top and both ends. Place on a baking tray and in to the oven for 12 minutes. Remove from the oven and leave somewhere warm to rest for 5 minutes before opening. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
CHEESY QUINOA AND BROCCOLI BITES Perfect for lunchboxes, blw/fingerfood and snacks. I’ve even served these for breakfast alongside a selection other foods to make a tasting plate. Easy to adapt using rice or couscous in place of quinoa and different veggies to suit your kids’ tastes.
I mixed together 🥦2 cups cooked quinoa
🥦2 cups cooked broccoli, finely chopped 🥦2 cups grated cheese
🥦4 eggs 🥦1tsp dried oregano
Pop into choice of muffin tray - I made 1 tray mini, 1 tray regular size and bake at 180°C (15-20 mins mini, 20-25 regular)
Freezer friendly too!

You CAN reset overnight. You have the power of CHOICE to keep yourself busy all day, plan your meals and snacks, drink buckets of water and punch your mean girl in the face with a big badass tuna and bacon salad! Yep, had that for dinner and it was AMAZEBALLS!
The first day is always the hardest cuz the Munch factor is STRONG!!! But after day 3 it WILL be easier, the cravings will subside and I will have MORE energy!
Having this small accomplishment of a day well spent and in control is freaking empowering!! Happy Monday y'all! 💃🏼🤟🏼🔥
