  • Mexican inspired blackened salmon with cilantro lime rice and  guacamole! . 
I found an awesome filet of wild caught sockeye salmon from @costco and had to make this dish! .

For the blackened seasoning, I took 1 teaspoon each of chili powder, smoked paprika, garlic powder, chipotle powder, and kosher salt. Mix with 3-4 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil and coat each piece of salmon. Let marinade for a few hours before cooking. Sear flesh side down in a skillet with olive oil for 3-5 minutes. Flip and continue to cook for 2-3 more minutes. .

For the sides, cilantro-lime rice was made with bismati rice and I added juice of a few limes in the water before cooking. Add salt to taste. Once the rice is cooked add chopped cilantro and stir. .

  • We are going bananas 🍌 for @JoannaGaines Banana Bread. She’s done it again. Not only does she mesmerize us with her interior decorating talents, but she can bake like a rockstar🤩 too!

We thought we had our Banana Bread recipe down, but we couldn't resist to try this #magnoliatable version, and it knocked ours out of the park. We baked ours in a regular loaf tin and it came out beautifully. Throw it together in 10 minutes, pop it in the in the oven whilst you go pick up the kids, and your house will smell divine by the time you get back. It’s delicious warm, slathered with butter (always salted for us), or for dessert with ice cream. In fact…that’s a fabulous idea, heading to the kitchen now😏!   • GF BUDAPEST - currently in budapest getting up close n personal with this burger/fries combo from the 100% gluten free @droprestaurant. so much choice and dairy free/lactose free options are marked out the menu for the DF folk. they were initially reluctant to give us a table even though the restaurant was half empty, but luckily got one in the end .... 🤨 thanks for all the messages in response to my stories and all the buda recommendations, I’m eating my way through them all!
