If you've been watching the documentary and the Netflix movie about Ted Bundy, you should read this. Written by a true crime writer, former policewoman and most bizarrely, a former friend of Ted's, if you thought the story couldn't get more tragic, it can and does. She worked with him in a crisis call center, she watched him be warm and empathetic on the phone. Save lives even. They confided in each other, and Ted continued to reach out to her in every crisis of his life to come. It was a facade. Ted was a person skilled in "being human". But it was not soul deep for him. It was all things he did to maintain an image, an idea of himself. More for his pride and ego than anything else. Even as she recounts "normal" conversations with him, the little instances of manipulation creep out. The underlying rages and emptiness of his being creep out. It was obvious to me, I knew the ending and she didn't. The girls he murdered were all intelligent, brilliant woman who "could have been" as well. Amongst his victims were computer programmers, dancers, all talented and young and full of life. That never gets mentioned, we talk about how brilliant and intelligent he was, and what a waste it was that he was a serial killer. But the women he murdered were no less. This was a black hole of a human, who sought to erase the women he murdered. With all this attention he gets, while the women he murdered are just a line up of Ted's victims, it looks like in the end he was successful. #truecrime#tragedy#extremelywickedshockinglyevilandvile#bookstagram#bookshelves
“I try to be green as much as I can and it's hard. I feel like I'm never doing enough. [...] For me as an actor, there's only so many things I can do, and this is a way, through a film, to teach and hopefully get the message out to young kids.” - Zac Efron 💙 @zacefron#zacefron#quotes
