  • #10yearchallenge for a challenging 10 years
.
On the left, taken just before my 20th birthday, I was recovering from several eating disorders, but these had been replaced with yo-yo dieting and bingeing. I had terrible issues with anxiety and was on anti-depressants. I had zero self esteem, felt I had completely lost my identity, had no idea what I wanted to do with my life, and HATED what I saw in the mirror- I felt a huge lack of control .
.
Fast forward 10 years and approaching 30 and I am actually grateful all this happened. I took 3 nutrition courses and achieved a 2:1 BSc in Medical Science , so that I was able to start healing my relationship with food and body through understanding it better , this enabled me to respect my body and rebuild my life.
.
And I got the professional help I needed - several rounds of counselling and cognitive behavioural therapy. I was ashamed and in denial about the mental health issues I had, and my only regret is that I felt this way as this stopped me getting the help I needed sooner. I listened to countless mindset audiobooks, did things that scared me and learned to meditate- three activities I still practice very regularly.

It鈥檚 been incredibly tough but so rewarding, and now exciting. My goal was to have my own nutrition coaching business and be completely self employed by the age of 30- the fact I am able to help women create a better relationship with themselves and their food, and for them to undergo such amazing body transformations , is the most incredible bonus anyone can ask for
