[image description:
1- a tweet reading "until straight people have to go through this, there's no reason for a straight pride:" with the next slides retweeted
2- a textpost reading "the worst part of pride each year is riding the subway late at night and seeing the gay guys, mostly the ones riding by themselves, slowly taking off their rainbow stickers and beads and what-not in preparation for their walk alone in their neighborhood, doing their best to prevent the off chance of being jumped. I saw one guy with a flag in his bag turn it upside down so it wouldn't poke out. so yeah, fuck that heterosexual pride day nonsense" and one adding "this is the saddest god damn thing I've read in a while, mostly because I literally remember peeling my stickers off on the way home too for this reason"
3- a textpost reading "I know this kid who was leaving pride, trying so badly to rub off the rainbow paint on his cheek because his dad was abusive and didn't know he was gay or at pride. I was on the bus with him and he was close to tears, his cheek red, and I had my makeup bag and there was a packet of wet wipes, so I went up and sat next to him and helped him rub it off. we've been best friends ever since"
4- a textpost reading "two years ago in Budapest the organizers didn't let anyone leave the place until we dropped all the rainbow flags into the trashcans and popped all the balloons, because people were waiting outside the cordons to get and beat us. sadly, the situation was so bad that even without the flags, we couldn't leave for a good two hours after the event anyway. there were hundreds of people just waiting to be able to get home safely, but we simply couldn't walk out of the place because of these assholes. in the end, the police made us leave in smaller groups via subway. they closed down the stations closest to ours, so we could avoid running into the people waiting outside. this was in Budapest in Europe, 2014. I hate this world we live in" and someone adding "and this is why #heterosexualpride makes me so angry"]

1- a tweet reading "what is happening in Hong Kong? on June 9th, hundreds of thousands of people in Hong Kong protested against an extradition plan. an extradition is the process in which one state, upon the request of another state, turns over the person charged with a crime to the latter state"
2- a tweet reading "the extradition plan in Hong Kong would allow people sentenced in Hong Kong to be sent to and detained in mainland China. the main fear is that this new law will not only target criminals, but also political activists and any sort of dissidents of the Chinese government" and a second tweet adding "to the protestors in Hong Kong, this plan doesn't just symbolize Chinese suppression of opposition, but also it's attempt to define Hong Kong as part of China and to weaken it's autonomy"
3- a tweet reading "police response to these protestors have been extremely violent. they used rubber bullets, tear gas, and also blocked the way to ambulances" and shows images which are in the next slides
4- an image of police with riot gear on, and gas (likely tear gas) between the police and a large crowd of protestors
5- two images of police in riot gear shouting at protestors, one is aiming a (flare?) gun and the rest are pointing batons at them
6- a crowd of police are on the left just standing there while some more police over to the right spray a protestor in a yellow raincoat]

  • As seen in Bay Ridge. Look, no one should be turning a blind eye to what #undocumented people contribute. They cook our food, raise our children, grow our produce... but they're the OTHER somehow. 🙄 Instead of being a-holes about it, why don't we be good #Americans and embrace those contributing to our society? In this country above all others, we are ALL immigrants. Let's help contributing members instead of pushing them away. #Diversity makes us BETTER. As seen in Bay Ridge.
