First actual gram post in a while. Life has been busy preparing for the big performance in two weeks!
Dance has been a major part of my life since I was young. It's come and gone over the 29 years of my life, but always comes back when I need it the most. Dancing with Work Dance Company came when I was struggling to see my self worth, drowning in depression. Letting others tell me who I am.
@workdancecompany has shown me who I'm meant to be in this life. A strong, loving, powerful woman who can accomplish anything I put my mind to!
I cannot wait to shake it on stage with my dance fam!! Our show is epic!
Dan: “Look pensive.” So, now do I need a thought to match? Maybe not, but you know me. I’ve totally got one.
What if we stopped competing with each other and started competing with ourselves?
Instead of having her abs, or her success, what if we focused on being the best version of ourselves, no matter what that looked like?
I KNOW women who are smarter. I KNOW women who are in better shape. I KNOW women who thrive in areas that I don’t.
And THESE are the women I surround myself with because if you’re the smartest, most dedicated, most successful lady in the room... You’re absolutely in the wrong room.
Bring your strengths, learn from others, and be open to change, and THAT’S when your superpower will shine, and THAT’S when you’ll thrive.
Being exceptional is different than being perfect.
—> 8 years and three classes later. We have tackled IA, IO, and IW together. Never did I think she and I would become such amazing friends but I couldn’t do life without her. Thanks for being one of my bests and always being along for the ride with my crazy ideas. Love youuuuuu Steen.
